Our Wedding

Aaron coming from the North side of Milwaukee and Kimyata growing up in Beloit, the chances of the two crossing paths was extremely slim. Fall 2011 Aaron began his Freshman year of college at UW Whitewater, while Kimyata started her journey as a Sophomore. Though the two were both Business majors and hung in the same crowd (hard not to at a PWI), they very rarely had verbal encounters. With both being heavily involved in The Black Student Union as general body members and attending many of the same extra curricular functions, the two had a few different run ins. Kimyata thought Aaron would just be a really cute freshman who was probably over confident (as the cute ones usually are) and would not take dating seriously, so decided she would steer clear from perusing him. Boy was she wrong!!!

Before There Was Magic

December 17, 2011 Kimyata was scrolling through her Facebook news feed and noticed Aaron Broadwater came up as a suggested friend. Thinking nothing of it she decided to send the cute freshman a friend request. Little did she know, that friend request would change her life for the better. After accepting the friend request, Aaron decided to send Kimyata a DM. He also didn't put much thought into the action taken, and just wanted to hold a conversation on that late night; the fact that it would be with an extremely pretty lady was an added bonus. Neither one of them had no clue what was in store. The conversation started off subtle, with hours passing between every few messages. Before they knew it their response time had picked up speed. They would both be constantly checking their laptop to see if the other had responded. So a few days later they decided to exchange numbers, and from there the communication took off. They would text all through the day and hold phone conversations through all hours of the night. The connection between the two was something that either of them have yet to feel, it was as if one knew exactly what to say to the other. The vibe was strong from the start, and the conversations went on and on; there was no cap on what could be discussed. Mid January the two decided to go out on their first date. They agreed to meet up at Aaron's house and drive to Applebee's together. They were both extremely nervous. They feared that their face to face connection would not as strong as their phone conversations; that couldn't be any further from the truth. The vibe was so strong that their waitress had thought they'd been dating for quite sometime and was extremely shocked at this being the first date. She even went on to say the two would get married one day; woah, talk about foreshadow! The date had been going so well that the two did not want to put an end to it so soon. So they decided to have a movie night back at Aaron's house.&nbsp;

How The Magic Began

February 11, 2012 Aaron decided it was time to ask Kimyata to be his girlfriend; on her 20th birthday. Before calling her over to his dorm room, he made sure he cleaned up and set out all of her birthday gift along his bed. The gifts consisted of a huge stuffed teddy bear, chocolate turtles (her absolute favorite), perfume, lotion, and body wash from bath and body works. Once she got to his dorm room she was over joyed by how well he had listened to her, as each gift he had purchased had come up in a different conversation. Just when she thought her smile could not grow any bigger, he grabbed her by the hands and asked her to be his girlfriend. Of course she said yes, with a huge smile, and immediately called her girls to tell them the great news. From there on, the two were inseparable. Dates to the campus bowling alley, cafeterias, and study nights are just a few affairs the two had shared. The two eventually was seen as one. They grew together, supported one another as the stepped outside of their comfort zone, and pushed the other to see it through for long and short term goals. They had become each others better half. As the time went on, the college sweethearts had graduated. Aaron had moved to Milwaukee for work, while Kimyata had moved to Janesville. The two had went from seeing each other everyday with only a set of stairs between their living space, to seeing each other once a week with an hour and a half commute. This was an extremely difficult two years for the couple but they agreed that their love was much stronger then the distance so they would push through. July 2018 Aaron decided to quit his job and go back to school for his Master's Degree. This would put him right back at UW Whitewater which was only a 30 minute commute from Kimyata's house versus the hour 15 minute commute from Milwaukee. So the two saw it best to finally move in together. They were in absolute bliss! They went from seeing each other once a week, to the other being the first person they'd see in the morning and the last at night.&nbsp; Now embarking on this wonderful journey had put them in a place to officially become one through marriage and take the proper steps to start their family. They are both ecstatic for their future legacy!&nbsp;

Growing up it was interesting having my lil brother be 10 years younger then myself, but as we both got older our bond continued to get tighter. I have 4 kids, 3 boys and one girl, who all look up to their uncle Aaron as an inspiration and strong leader. I know he will do any and everything for my kids, as he already does. Hello, I'm Keira I have two children one that's 7 and the other is in my belly currently at 7 month. I work as a community provider/caregiver. The bride and I go way back were cousins but more like sisters. We lived together and shared a closet, she hated it. We call each other siscuz but not because we're cousins who are close like sister but because we were each other's first true best friend. We did everything together, our favorite moveis to watch were B.A.P.S. and Romy and Michele's High School Reunion. She came at the perfect time in my life, I was happy when she officially moved from Chicago to Beloit. She's always had my back, when Kimyata sees life tear me down she tries to remove me from a situation the best way she can,&nbsp; she's always been a great support system for me no matter what. It is a blessing to witness her big day where she becomes Mrs. Broadwater. I'm happy for her and Aaron. Being around Aaron and Kimyata always made me feel like I was around two really good friends, they never made me feel like a third wheel. Aaron made me feel comfortable enough to where if I had something personal to tell Kay I didn't have to pull her a side for it I can just say it out loud right in front of him. Time didn't determine their relationship it's how strong their love was for each other that makes it seem like they've been loving and knowing each other their whole entire life. I can't even imagine picturing Aaron without Kimyata.

in Milwaukee, WI. I work for Allied Universal as a Security supervisor at
Behavioral Health Division and Co-owner of Parts Nation Auto body

together in Cambridge apartments and every since then Aaron became a brother of

When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, online shopping, and traveling. Aaron is my first cousin, we experienced a lot of our childhood together, from getting chased by dogs, fighting each other, getting whooped together(it was usually him getting the whoppings), the memories are endless, he was more of a brother than cousin. I had the pleasure of meeting the beautiful bride for the first time at a family function at our grandmothers house. I knew the first time I met her she’d fit right into the family.
