Is there cell reception at the venue?
No. El Monte Park is in a valley and has limited to no cell service.
What is smart casual attire?
Examples of smart casual attire include collared shirts, trousers, khakis, button down shirts, polos, dark-colored jeans, sundresses, blouses, skirts, pants.
What are the directions to the Park?
It is easy to find, however we suggest writing down the directions before you leave. There is no cell reception once you get down El Monte Road.
From Highway 67- Take Mapleview and Lake Jennings Park Rd exit to El Monte Road for 4.5 miles. Turn Left onto El Monte Road and it is 3.8 miles to the park.
From Highway 8- Head northwest on Los Coches toward Vanguard Way for 1.9 miles. Turn Right onto Julian and go for 1.2 miles. Continue straight onto El Monte Road for 3.8 miles to the park.
Can we use UBER or Lift to get to the Park?
Due to the cell reception at the park, this a limited option. Rides to and from should be scheduled in advance.
Is there parking?
Yes, there is plenty parking at El Monte Park and the VFW. We have prepaid for the parking at the park. Let them know you are with the wedding when you arrive, and you will not be charged.
Can we bring our kids?
We included kids on your RSVP for the wedding and reception. If their name is not there, reach out to let us know. This will give us a correct head count for children. The after party at the VFW is 21+
Is there an open bar?
Yes. County parks allow alcohol under 20% APV. We will have beer, seltzers, wine and pre-mixed cocktails. Other drink options include soda, lemonade, iced tea, coffee, and water.
What is the weather going to be like?
We encourage you to check the weather reports a few days before the wedding. In July, it is typically hot in Lakeside. However, the park is in a valley and it can cool quickly once the sun goes down.
Where should we bring/ send our gifts?
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home at 12818 Cochera Road Lakeside, CA 92040. A wedding card box will be at our reception.
