Begin at the Beginning - January 10th, 2015

If our mutual friend, Avi Shertok, wasn't a deviant who tricked all his friends into going to Karaoke by telling us it was to celebrate his birthday (spoiler - it was not his birthday), we might never have met...

Avi had invited each of us (and about 35 other friends) to his "Birthday Karaoke" and also invited a handful out of us to get dinner beforehand. Uncharacteristic for both of us, Ashley arrived 5 minutes early and Aaron 5 minutes late. Aaron came dashing in, expressing his apologies, and sat next to Ashley and proceeded to chatter her ear off for the remainder of dinner. Amongst his many SQRL moments, he inquired her thoughts on the newly released iPhone 6, what her New Year's resolutions were, and if she liked punk rock. By the time the group moved from dinner to Karaoke, his mind was made up...

At Karaoke, Aaron came over to sit with Ashley and offered a non-sequitur piece of advice related to her New Year's Resolution of "cooking more" which was infamously, "All you really need is one good knife!"

From that comment, he received a side eyed look, with one raised eyebrow from Ashley...the first of many times he's received such a look....and the rest was history!
