After dating for over 2.5 years, moving in together, and getting their precious pup, Tequila, Aaron and Lauren decided it was time to take the next step. They picked out a ring together in August 2023. Now it was up to Aaron to figure out how to propose!

One day after school, Aaron and Lauren had plans to meet up with their friends, Danny and Morgan, for dinner. Aaron "decided" to change plans last minute. He told Lauren that before going out to dinner, the group would be meeting Aaron's sister, Naomi, and her then boyfriend (now fiancé!), James, at the Island Lodge for a quick drink. Lauren was not a fan of the last-minute plan change as she works at the restaurant and did not want to go there on her off day. Thankfully, Aaron was insistent! He had been secretly in contact with Naomi and James who went to the docks of Tapps Island ahead of time to set up a beautiful display of rose petals and candles. Morgan and Danny were also in on the plan and secretly took photos of the proposal and came prepared with a bottle of champagne to celebrate the engagement!
