But it will never break.”―&nbsp;Laura Schroff,&nbsp;An Invisible Thread Murray State University was a small campus, and despite having several classes in the same building, sharing friends/acquaintances, and being highly active on campus, they never formally met each other. Freshman year, Estefania was invited by her Great Beginning's leader, Noah Pike (groomsman) to hang out with some friends. Shortly upon Noah arriving with Aaron, Estefania decided to call it a night and head to her dorm before meeting Noah. Her main concern was surviving the first semester of college, particularly general chemistry. In this daunting class, Natalie Jarret (groomswoman) guided Estefania through her first college labs in general chemistry. Alongside Estefania was Noah also trying to survive general chemistry. A year later, Aaron started the men's soccer club. They would often hold practices at night on the intermural fields by the college dorms. Estefania would commonly drive on this road to seek parking closest to her dorm. When she drove by the team (often), she would look over and think, "Finally Murray State has soccer guys." During the Spring semester of 2019, Estefania spent every night in the lecture hall studying for organic chemistry, biology, or veterinary technology. Meanwhile, Aaron was down the hallway, in front of the lecture hall door, working on his senior robots project. And yet, they did not notice each other in any of the hours they spent in classes during the day and studying through the night in that same building. They had to cross the Atlantic to finally meet each other. After Aaron's graduation, he joined his engineering class to Berlin, Germany. Meanwhile, Estefania was with her history class on the same plane. One night, a group of classmates were seeking to find a bar to hang out. Aaron, classically, lead the group to find one. At the first bar, Aaron asked if he could take Estefania's jacket and accompany her at the corner of the bar to wait for all the other classmates to have their fun.Aaron found the next bar, Sharlie Cheen, to take everyone. The waiters took everyone to a private lounge, but the prices of the cocktails steered everyone away except for Aaron and Estefania. Here, they began sharing their stories. Aaron showed pictures of his childhood and family, and Estefania listened and laughed with him. They didn't want the night to end, so the roamed around Berlin, talking about their dreams and goals while waiting for the ampelmann to do his famous green walk.Every night since, Aaron and Estefania escaped their dorms and met in the stairwell of the hostel, talking throughout the night. On the night of May 24th, Aaron asked Estefania if she wanted a surprise. He said to meet him in the stairwell at 10pm and he will lead her there. Initially, Estefania wanted to take a quick trip to Spain to visit family, but it was highly recommended against by the professors. Instead, Aaron thought her could take her himself. On that night, Aaron guided Estefania through Berlin, taking the underground subway and running past Checkpoint Charlie. Soon enough, they were in Barcelona, the restaurant. Ironically, the restaurant owner was from Venezuela, and upon learning about Estefania's family, instantly offered a shot of his favorite spirit: Mari Mayans Hierbas Ibicencas. Soon enough, they were spinning around the water fountain (Schillerbrunnen / Schillerdenkmal) in Gendarmenmarkt (pictured), surrounded by 17th-18th century churches and 19th century concert halls while a man plays violin at the corner. An Invisible String

“You and me, we're in a club now”&nbsp;-Disney's Up, EllieAfter arriving back in the United States from Germany, Aaron and Estefania couldn't part ways just yet. Estefania had a four hour trip back to Central Kentucky, but given how late they landed in the states, she started to question whether she could drive jet-lagged.Aaron offered to her a place to stay. Now, normally Estefania is cautious with these offers, but given how kind he's been, she decided to accept it. Soon after they arrived at his place, she meets his brother, Logan (groomsman), and the queen, the one and only, Princess. Aaron instantly began cleaning up his home and caring for Princess--- green flag. The next morning, Aaron offered to take Estefania to Los Portales-- a fan favorite-- for breakfast. The "juice" for the morning was a Jarritos soda. They tried to extend the time together for as long as possible, because afterwards, Aaron had to pack up his things to move to Saint Louis to start his first big-boy job at Boeing and Estefania had an externship in Louisville's medical school. Their lives were going in opposite directions: he's establishing a career and she was still in school.But this did not feel like an ending. In the parking lot, Aaron folded up the Jarritos bottle cap and placed it in Estefania's pocket. He says to hold onto it so he has a reason to see her again, then she can give it back. A week later, he sought for the bottle cap: he invites Estefania for a Venezuela v USA Soccer game. A risky business, but she wins.

Every other week, either Aaron or Estefania would drive three hours to spend the weekend with each other. The entire drive flying by with the thrill and excitement to see the other person. They would still be in their work/school clothes from the day, sometimes with the ID still clipped on. Soon, a new virus was creeping across the United States. Aaron had a visit to San Francisco before the first case of the virus was detected in that airport. Everyone started whispering about the virus all over campus. Soon enough, Spring break became two weeks of quarantine, and two weeks of quarantine became months. Estefania was struggling on how she was going to complete the last few months of undergrad after taking on more classes. Aaron, once again, offered his home gladly. Just 8 months into dating, Estefania searched for the few boxes she had hidden away. She packed up her dorm room, took a last look around, and turned away from her undergraduate years to go to Saint Louis. As frightening as the pandemic was, they learned to adapt to these new, unforeseen circumstances together. They learned, not just how to live with each other 24/7, but how to adapt to the new lifestyle of quarantining and social distancing imposed. They spent nights making new recipes with Aaron getting used to a pescatarian diet, binging Netflix, Estefania learning how to play Minecraft, and constructing the Lego Space Station. As they were enjoying their time together, Princess was still getting used to her new housemate, Carolina, receiving most of the attention. Unlike Princess, Carolina had high jumps and ran across furniture. Carolina gave Aaron and Estefania the excuse to go outside and walk around, even if when it meant Estefania locking themselves out of his apartment without a wallet or car keys. Just a few months after moving in with one another, Estefania had to start searching for her new home in Philadelphia where she will start veterinary school. Aaron, without hesitation, offered to move with her to this new city. But before they could make this large move, they had to collect all of Estefania's items between three different locations. Boxes upon boxes upon boxes. Some containing old memories were hidden away and some contained the framework for the life they will spend together.

On Aaron and Estefania's last day in Paris, France, Aaron asks if she wants to look around for an engagement ring. Excited, but scared, Estefania pulled up some places in the area she was already glancing at... because of their antiques, of course. After walking through the Catacombs, Aaron and Estefania began their run through the streets of Paris to get to these stores before they had to depart to the airport. The first place was quite formal, no antiques but new and customizable engagement rings. This was going to be the same set up as United States, so why go through all the trouble? So, instead, they decided to go to a bookshop by the Notre Dame and Sainte-Chapelle. The line was horrendously long to the Shakespeare and Co. bookshop, with people waiting outside in the rain eager to enter. What now? Waiting in line will probably take up most of the free time. So they went back to the drawing board and realized there was a jewelry store just a couple of blocks down from the bookshop and Notre Dame. Running through the rain, they tried to open the door to Bijouterie Catherine Philomène, but it was locked. After a second of being confused, a woman open the door and asked if she could help them. Estefania says she thought they were open, and the lady says, "normally, yes," but they have been shut down for months renovating the store and were not planning on formally re-opening until the following week. Nevertheless, she was happy to let them in. The lady pulls out a tray of her antique rings collected from markets throughout France. One ring caught Estefania's eye immediately. This ring was unlike any she hinted at for Aaron, but had a style she's been drawn to for years. And this one was perfect: daisy Edwardian-styled ring from the 1920s-1940s.After ensuring this was the ring Estefania wanted for forever, Aaron moves forward with a payment... but his card was declined. The lady explains that cash payments are gladly accepted and an ATM can be found 5 minutes, around the corner. Back on the run, Aaron and Estefania make their way to the ATM machine. Here, Aaron finds out his ATM withdraw amount was the exact price of the ring. To avoid being suspicious of a great number of bills being withdrawn, Aaron had cycles of stepping away from the machine for other people and then going back to withdraw some more cash. With the most caution, Aaron rolled up the bills, clenched it in his fist within his jacket pocket, and sped walked back to the jewelry store. 1 hour before having to go to the airport, they were carrying their forever ring.
