Aaron & Katie

It takes two

Aaron - When Katie and I met, we were both hurting. I was a single dad, truly struggling to figure out how to parent and provide. Katie had moved back to Modesto to work night shift in the ICU. It was a very intense job, and it took its toll. We were sick.

We didn't know each of had the medicine the other needed.

I met Katie on Hinge. She was silly, funny, charming, interesting, smart, and gorgeous. I knew we would get along and I knew I had to meet her in person.

She was away for a few days, and I thought Katie had ghosted me, when out of the blue, she checked in. She had a boring date.

I promised her then, I would NEVER be boring.

We talked. And talked and talked and talked. And we got along so well. We agreed to meet up.

Our first date was at Skewers in Modesto, October 20thish 2020. I remember how shockingly red her lipstick was, how yellow her dress was, and how genuine and beautiful she looked. Her honest soul really shone through and I knew I was hooked on Katie.

We've had our ups and downs.

She didn't know I had a kid at first. That was interesting. We split and got together again 2 or 3 times. But finally after a good chunk of struggle, we took the time to understand each other better. We stopped and listened. We grew together. And that's exactly what we've been doing every day since.

Katie is my Bee. She's loyal, kind, loving, fiercely affectionate, and considerate. She's a silly goofy Troll also, and she is always squishing something.

Katie and I both love colors. And when you come to our home, you can tell! Living with Katie, the home feels so warm and inviting.

I love Katie because she helps me to be responsible and kind. I help Katie with support and sustenance LOL. Adulting is hard, but with Katie, life feels good. It feels happy and easy.
