We first met in 2014, where we were introduced through mutual friends. Aaron had moved down from the Boston area to start his career and was renting a room from a couple, Kyle and Marissa. Kim was working at St Anthony’s hospital. Marissa was a new nurse at St. Anthony’s Hospital and Kim was assigned to train her for her new role. Kim and Marissa became friends and started to hang out outside of work which is how Aaron was introduced to Kim. Funnily enough, Marissa always said “Kim will end up marrying my roommate”.
We kept in touch but did not get serious until a few years later when Aaron had his own apartment and Kim had purchased her first home. We both love to travel to various destinations from Hawaii, Key West, Utah, New York, and New England to name a few. Aaron taught Kim how to scuba dive and they went scuba diving with manta rays in Hawaii. Kim’s dog, Blake, who is a German Shepherd loves Aaron as if he grew up with him. Kim loves horses and enjoys horseback riding and going to the beach. One of Aaron’s current projects is restoring his late grandfather’s Ford pickup truck, which he hopes to include in the wedding.
For the proposal, Aaron planned to propose on one our vacations. We had planned a trip to the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, and Las Vegas. We planned the trip for months in advance but were unsure we would be able to still go with Coronavirus. Aaron thoughtfully planned out a plan A, B, and C of locations in the Grand Canyon to propose. Aaron flew his best friend, Matt, from the Boston area to come and photograph the proposal at the Grand Canyon. We hiked down in the Grand Canyon to “Ooh Ahh Point”. I thought we were just taking a picture up on the rock overlooking the canyon when Aaron got down on one knee and proposed. Matt had been hiding up in the rocks the entire morning waiting for us to arrive to take pictures. I did not even notice he was even there until after Aaron pointed him out to me.
We are excited to begin this next step in our journey to becoming husband and wife! We are thrilled to share our wedding with you!
