In the Fall of 2020, God told Elisa that Aaron would be a significant blessing in her life.
Aaron and Elisa had met just a few weeks before, at MK orientation at John Brown University. They were part of the same friend group, and as Elisa got to know Aaron--his thoughtfulness, his gentlemanliness, his goofiness, and his love for the Lord--she became smitten.
Flash forward to Fall of Sophomore year, both Aaron and Elisa faced quite a rocky semester. But, in learning to open up to each other in their hardships--and also in watching the new Marvel and Star Wars tv shows that came out every Wednesday night together--they found themselves becoming closer, until they knew they were best friends. In fact, somewhere in there, Aaron realized that Elisa was the person he wanted to be with. Funnily enough, Elisa was actually supposed to be gone on a Study Abroad program that semester, but it got canceled. If it hadn't, she wouldn't have been able to be there for Aaron in this hard season, and vice versa. God clearly knew what He was doing.
A few months later, in February of 2022, Aaron told Elisa how he felt about her. They started holding hands and figuring out what this all meant for their relationship. In March, they became boyfriend and girlfriend.
On their two month-iversary, Aaron was the first to say, "I love you."
The years that followed have been full of fun, romantic things like first dates, dances, and escape rooms, as well as all the difficulties of learning to communicate with and love another person. In the Fall of 2023, they faced the roughest patch of their relationship yet and had to truly consider if their paths in life could unite in marriage, or if they were diverging. But the Lord reminded Elisa of His promise to her, and He brought them through to the other side stronger and surer than ever. They knew they wanted to get married, and they finally felt ready for it.
On October 12, 2024, Aaron proposed. Elisa said yes--twice.
Come March 24, 2025, they will be united in marriage, all by the grace and blessing of the Lord.
