Picture this: it's 2020 and you work at a dusty feed mill in Dale, IN with a bunch of middle-aged men and your new bestie Sydney Hunter. COVID is in full swing so it's all work and no play because you're an "essential worker". But hey, could be worse right?
Enter: Ethan "blue eyes" Griepenstroh.
Sydney and I are clocking out in the breakroom one day when I realize I don't recognize the guy in line in front of me. I turn to Sydney and say something along the lines of "who's this guy"? She shrugged. We didn't know there was a new hire, so obviously we had to find out everything about him!
We did some digging and it turned out Ethan was from Santa Claus, IN and was working nightshift at the mill while going to school full time. I worked in the office during the day so we would pass each other in the parking lot in the mornings as he was leaving. Mostly we just stared at each other and giggled like middle schoolers (I wish I was making this up).
This went on for a while but eventually we learned how to pronounce his last name (grip-in-straw for those of you still struggling). At the end of the summer, Ethan called and asked me on a date. Reluctantly I agreed, because isn't it like the #1 rule of being an adult to never date your coworker?
But even after that first date it was clear that someone upstairs knew what He was doing. We've pretty much been inseparable ever since!
We are so excited to start our lives together and truly can't wait to celebrate with all of you! See ya in June - and bring your dancing shoes!
