Abbey and Carlos met in January 2019 in Valladolid, Spain. Abbey was studying abroad, and Carlos had just moved there from southern Spain to live with his best friend. From the beginning, their connection was effortless—filled with laughter, curiosity, and a spark that neither of them expected.

As Abbey's time studying in Spain came to an end, the future felt uncertain. But before Abbey left for the airport, Carlos shared that he wanted to give long distance a real chance. They spent the next year apart, staying connected through daily phone calls and FaceTimes, growing even closer despite the miles between them.

After graduating, Abbey returned to Spain to teach English. When her work in Madrid came to an end, she moved back to Valladolid, and the two began building a life together.

Over the next four years, they created a warm and loving home—including welcoming a sweet, four-legged addition, Daisy, to their little family.

In August of 2022, Carlos proposed, and in 2023 they eloped in Gibraltar, joined by Abbey’s parents and two of their dearest friends.

Now, that Abbey and Carlos have moved to the USA permanently, they are thrilled to celebrate their marriage with their loved ones at their U.S. wedding—a day filled with joy, gratitude, and all the people who have supported their journey.
