Abbie and Ryan both grew up in Montana, and separately pursued careers in Portland, Oregon at KPMG. Neither had the opportunity to get to know each other beyond a name until scheduled on the same job several years in. Very quickly, they found out that a Bears/Bobcat fan and a Packers/Griz fan could in fact get along. Whether it being joking banter in the audit room, eating takeout late at night, or taking long walks during busy season in the Portland rain, a friendship started.

A friendship it stayed as Ryan and Abbie worked on the same job and could not date. So upon completion of the job in February of 2022 Ryan took the first opportunity there was. Over a night at bar trivia, Ryan asked Abbie to be his girlfriend.

Since then, they’ve gone on many adventures: camping in Yosemite, ice fishing with the Hovers, ping pong with the Caldwells, countless game and trivia nights, the Hood to Coast relay, whale watching in the San Juan Islands, wine tasting in Oregon, cruises in the Caribbean, and so much more. Together, they love exploring, laughing, spending time with family, and enjoying Ryan’s cooking. And, of course, Abbie and Jordy (Ryan’s cat!) have formed a special bond along the way.
