Connor and Abbie Claire met in May of 2023 when Abbie Claire moved to Texas from Michigan to work for the summer before going to graduate school. After spending almost every day of the summer together after Connor's birthday on June 10th, he officially asked her to be his girlfriend on July 15, 2023. That marked the beginning of many trips back and forth between The Woodlands, TX—where Connor was living, working, and attending the University of Houston—and Oxford, MS, where Abbie Claire was pursuing her Master’s degree at Ole Miss. Their long-distance relationship was filled with visits to the Grove for football games, countless FaceTime calls catching up on each other’s days, and lots of love. Though the distance was challenging, they made it work by constantly reminding each other of their love and commitment, knowing a time would come when they wouldn’t have to be apart. That time came after Abbie Claire graduated with her Master’s degree on May 7, 2025, followed closely by Connor’s graduation in Houston on May 10. The next day, May 11, the couple got engaged and returned home to a surprise celebration with their closest friends and loved ones. Both Connor and Abbie Claire knew early on that they had found “the one,” and now they’re thrilled to celebrate with all of their family and friends. They are so excited for this next chapter and all that lies ahead!
