Our Love Story

Abbie and John's Love Story

It was early spring of 2019 while Abbie was in grad school at Northwestern University. A group of her classmates were taking a "study break" for their annual Beer Olympics event. After the event was over, Abbie was invited to a "Leap-Day party" at one of her classmates older brothers apartment.

It didn't take long after arriving for Abbie and John to catch each others eye cross the room. One thing led to another and we ended up talking in the kitchen most all of the night. Abbie was hoping John would ask for her number to meet up again, but his nerves got the best of him and she left John with no digits. The next day, John texted Abbies friend from PT school, Clare, and asked forAbbie's instagram handle to direct message her. At the time, Abbie had given up social media for Lent, but when she saw a notification pop up the next night with a message from John Enochs, she thought "hm..? could that be the John I was talking to at the Leap day party? I never did get his last name.." Curiosity took its toll and Abbie had to open the message to know. Sure enough it was who she was hoping it would be. It didn't take long for John to apologize for not getting Abbie's number in person the night of February 29th, and asked finally for her number as he would love to meet up again.

A week later our first date planned by John ended up being all of Abbie's favorite things -- we went to Lincoln Park zoo, stopped at the Wine Bar, and got Jeni's ice cream. We had so much fun that night we decided to make plans to meet at mass together the following morning.

Shortly after, COVID hit and as we all know the world was a weird place. Abbie went home to MN for a few months as she was online for school, and John spent an extended amount of time in Marco Island to escape the city craziness. Although we were very far away and had met shortly before this, we still made time for Facetime dates and stayed in touch. After we both finally returned to the city, we were able to actually begin our relationship and very easily fell in love with one another. We are so excited to continue exploring, learning, and growing together as we start our married life! Thank you for the continued support and love over the years and to each of you for being a special part of our relationship.
