We met while working for a baby food company in Fremont, Michigan. We joined a trivia team at the local bar - The Blind Squirrel. We were just friends, but coworkers and fellow trivia team members thought there was potential for more.

Abbie moved away from Michigan. We remained acquaintances and kept in touch via the occasional text message. We both thought we just let "The One" get away.

Joey worked up enough courage to tell Abbie how he felt. Lucky for him, Abbie reciprocated. We had our doubts anything would come out of it since we lived 6 hours apart, but agreed to meet up for a weekend.

Due to world events, our initial meet-up was slightly postponed. With the uncertainty of the times, Joey couldn't let his window close again - He visited Abbie in Columbus and his weekend visit turned into a 3 week quarantine.

Joey moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan! Here we are with our "crafts" from the Grand Rapids Art Museum - we still hang them on our Christmas tree!

Abbie moved to Chicago! We were not prepared for a day of sightseeing in the brisk wind so we bought these hats at the closest CVS. It is the only hat that fits Joey's unusually large head!

Long distance meant many hours on FaceTime! Here Abbie is telling Joey how she broke her nose

We finally gave up long distance after 2 years and moved to Minneapolis together!

Joey found Nelson on Craigslist and decided to bring him home. We now have a direct line to Minnesota's best doodles!

Living in Minnesota means many hours in the car to Michigan and Wisconsin! We enjoy the quality bonding :)

Parent meet-up at The Loaf in Cedar, Michigan. Truly a weekend that will be talked about for years to come.
