Is there a dress code?
YES. **ALL-BLACK** Everything in our wedding has a purpose and to help us realize our vision for this special day we kindly ask that you incorporate all black into your planned attire for the event. This could be a black suit, dress, or even t-shirt and black jeans. We have been asked if that also means black shoes. As someone that has made a reputation for pushing the envelope with their shoes, they will be the exception to the rule as I can't bring myself to mess with someone's shoe game. If you are in doubt or have questions you can always reach out and ask.
Can I bring my kids?
With the nature of what this event is we are leaving that up to the discretion of the parent. Everyone knows what they find acceptable for their children and we respect as much. We do ask all guests (not just children) to be on their best behavior so that everyone can have an enjoyable time.
What time should I arrive?
All willing the ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00pm Eastern. We ask all guests to arrive at least 15-30 minutes earlier than this scheduled time.
Where is the ceremony?
The ceremony as well as following reception will all be hosted at Oak Grove Retreat in Tarboro, NC. The address is available on the invitations as well as here on the website once you confirm your RSVP. Part of the event will be taking place outdoors (weather permitting) so we ask guests to be mindful of the weather as well as to wear shoes that are soft ground appropriate.
Do I need to RSVP?
It is strongly encouraged to RSVP for this event. It helps with seating arrangements, as well as dinner which will be plated. Having an accurate headcount allows us to make sure that everyone has enough to eat (isn't that the southern way after all). The RSVP also asks about any dietary restrictions so that we can make sure everyone stays safe.
Can I take photos?
We kindly request an unplugged ceremony to allow everyone to be fully present and immersed in the experience. This includes having cellphones silenced and put away whenever possible. Our professional photographer will be capturing all the highlights, and we'll be sharing the photos with all guests afterwards. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in creating a distraction-free environment for our ceremony.
For the after dinner party we are all here to have a good time and you are free to take as many photos as possible. We may even have some additional ways for you have your own photo keepsake ;).
