Nick messaged me on Hinge: “ABBY😱!”
Clearly, I’ve never received a message so romantic. A few days later, we got poké in PB, walked the boardwalk, and talked for hours. Typically it’s not the best idea to give a random man your address on the first date, but luckily, I would say this time it worked out!
Roughly our 4th date (neither of us know exactly what number date, sorry), we went to Coronado.
We had dinner plans at the Del hotel but first up, we had a ghost tour. BUT, before said ghost tour, I decided I wanted to show Nick my favorite sunset spot on the easterly part of the island.
So, I showed Nick the cutest little beach that when the sun is setting, it perfectly hits downtown amid the cotton candy skies.
On April 12, 2025, Nick took me here again but this time got down on one knee. Unfortunately with the time of year, there were some more clouds than usual but luckily my ring made up in sparkliness for the lack of on the buildings.
With Nick being in the military and gone majority of the year, we decided to do a civil union at the courthouse & plan to do our vows at our wedding December 2026 instead of planning a full wedding before he deploys.
Since we didn’t feel like waiting that long to officially be husband and wife, we did this!
We can’t wait to officially celebrate and do the shebang with our closest friends & family.
