Abby and I met in the Spring of 2017 at the Northgate District in College Station, Texas. I had a long day participating in The Big Event, a philanthropy project put on by Texas A&M. Abby was just getting back from a Spring Break trip to Las Vegas. Abby and I were both tired and not feeling like doing anything that evening, but something told us to get off the couch and go spend some time with friends before classes started on Monday. When my roommate and groomsman Zachary and I were contemplating whether or not to go, I said; “We should go, maybe tonight’s the night we meet that special girl.” Turns out that gut feeling was right.
Zach and I were in the bed of a truck waiting at an intersection to pull into Northgate when I hear a sweet voice ask; “Hey are you Jacob?” She told me her name was Abby and that she recognized me from a good friend of ours, Regis Gosda’s, social media post. Excited to meet a new friend, I asked if she would meet us at the bar Shiner Park. When she came to the bar, I was shocked by the beautiful girl who had come to meet me. We spent that night together dancing and having fun, as well as beginning to fall in love with one another. After that night, Abby and I began spending all of our time together and we have continued to do so to this day. She is truly my best friend. I am so happy that luck and great timing directed me to the love of my life.
Not only am I thankful for College Station for all the wonderful memories made while I was at Texas A&M University, but also for leading me to my soulmate and soon to be wife.
