🍺 Our Favorite Breweries
Denver and Golden are famous for their craft beer, and these are the spots we always take friends and family. This list covers every style imaginable—from the crispest German lagers to classic English cask ales and mind-bendingly tart sours!
New Terrain Brewing (Golden): The perfect post-hike reward! This brewery sits right near the foothills, offering a huge, sunny patio and a tap list focused on crisp lagers, juicy IPAs, and approachable sours. It's the ideal spot to start or end an adventure.
Cerebral Brewing (Denver): Known for its academic/scientific approach to brewing, Cerebral consistently puts out some of Denver's best. Their specialty is a blend of super fresh, hazy and West Coast IPAs and a fantastic barrel-aged program.
Crooked Stave (Denver): This is the spot for the adventurous palate. Crooked Stave is famous across the country for their sophisticated wild and sour ales, which are often aged in oak barrels using Brettanomyces yeast.
Bierstadt Lagerhaus (Denver): If you're tired of IPAs and sours, this is the one. Bierstadt is dedicated to the art of the traditional German lager. Be sure to order their acclaimed Slow Pour Pils, which is meticulously poured over several minutes to create a perfect head. Lots of fun games here too.
Hogshead Brewery (Denver): A true rarity! Hogshead is one of the few places in Colorado committed to traditional English-style cask ales. The beer is served at cellar temperature from a manual pump (a "beer engine"), giving it a signature creamy, lightly carbonated texture.
