Longwood Gardens is a very special place for us, and we can't wait for you all to see it. One of our very first dates was at Longwood Gardens and we continue to enjoy the gardens a few times each year for great fountain shows, spectacular Christmas lights, and of course gorgeous botanical life. You will have a ticket giving you access including re-entry into the garden any time on the day of the wedding (click here to access your ticket). If you are looking for something to do the day before or after the wedding we highly encourage you to consider buying a ticket to further enjoy the garden and support a wonderful non-profit organization!
Downtown West Chester has a wide variety of local shops. From fashion boutiques to record stores, to home decor, West Chester has something perfect for everyone. Friday night prior to the wedding is the gallery walk night. Local artists' work will be on display throughout town and shops will be open until 8:00 pm. Try some of our favorites like Tish, Jawn Supply, Pine & Quill, or Thistle Be Perfect!
If you are looking to grab food in the area consider trying some of the places we love to eat. For a great meal, check out Kooma, Opa, Greystone Oyster Bar, or Mercato. For a quick bite at breakfast or lunch, try La Tartine, Mae's, or Buddy's Burgers. If you are looking for something sweet, we recommend Dia Doce Cupcakes. There are plenty other great options for whatever food you are in the mood for!
If you are looking for a great place to catch up with friends and family while in town there are a number of great places to get a drink. We recommend Turks Head Wine Bar, Room 109 which is a speakeasy in the bottom of Hotel Indigo, or Kooma for fun cocktails. Mas Mexicali Cantina is also great for a margarita and lively atmosphere, we'll be having an afterparty on the second floor after the wedding feel free to stop by and have a drink with us!
If you are up for a bit more of an adventure in the days surrounding the wedding, Philadelphia (Go Birds!) is about a 40 minute drive or train ride from West Chester. If you're taking the train, Septa's Paoli/Thorndale makes getting into the city simple! Eric spent 4 years living in the city as a student at Temple University and as a couple we have grown to adore the city for all the art, entertainment, and cuisine it has to offer. Some of our favorite things to do in the city are catching a Phillies game, grabbing dinner at our favorite restaurant Double Knot, or going to a show. You also can't go wrong exploring Center City, historic Old City, or grabbing a cheesesteak on South St. at Jim's!
There are so many great things to explore around West Chester. For something to do check out Highland Orchards, go to the Brandywine Museum of Art, go for a walk at Stroud's Preserve, or browse the shelves at Baldwin's Book Barn. If you are up for an adventure you could also hop over to another town like Kennet Square, or go shopping in King of Prussia.
