Abby and Ben started dating in August of 2019. They met on the dating app Tinder at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater earlier that spring. Ben initiated the first message, creating the ultimate first date based off of the bio and pictures on Abby's profile. Abby responded with the second date message based off of Ben's profile. The two dates involved watching tv shows, eating frozen pizzas, and becoming the best beer pong duo Whitewater has ever seen. Ben and Abby connected instantly over a very random tv show called Blindspot and that year's season of American Idol. They also bonded over their love for Taco Bell and Topper's Pizza. From there, Ben took his sweet time asking Abby on an official first date that summer. By the time that he did, he had to wait for Abby to return for what seemed like her one millionth trip to Disney World. Ben took Abby to the Milwaukee Public Museum and to dinner afterwards to what continues to be one of their favorite restaurants, The Calderone Club.

Abby and Ben both graduated in 2020 from UWW. Ben graduated with a degree in Information Technology. However, shortly after graduation, he switched career paths and is now working in health insurance at Sovereign Select LLC as an independent agent. They specialize in Medicare and other health insurance products. Abby graduated with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders before pursuing her master's degree at UWM. She's now a Speech Language Pathologist in the Mukwonago School District at Section Elementary. She's in her third year.

Abby and Ben share a love for travel. They have been to many places together including the breweries of Grand Rapids, the St. Louis Zoo, the beaches of South Padre Island, across the border to Montreal, and the mountains of Colorado and Montana. They're also working on visiting every MLB ballpark. So far, they've been to nine together.

In May of 2024, on their monthly trip to the Milwaukee County Zoo and in front of one of Abby's favorites, the giraffes, Ben got down on one knee and popped the question!
