Our Wedding

Once upon a time, in the halls of the University of St. Thomas, a rugby athlete named Will and a university sales woman named Abby crossed paths. Their connection was instant, but destiny played a patient hand. It wasn't until two years after they had graduated that they realized their love was meant to bloom (thank you to Will for going to Abby's 24th birthday party). In 2017, fueled by dreams and a shared sense of adventure, they embarked on a journey that led them to the bustling streets of New York City. The city that never sleeps welcomed them with open arms where they discovered new corners of the world. Their bond only grew stronger as they love to exercise in Central Park, take weekend trips around New England, play Rummikub, make Instant Pot recipes, and host gatherings for family and friends. After seven years of teamwork, shared laughter, challenges, and triumphs, and on one of the coldest days of the year in Central Park, they chose to spend the rest of their lives together. Their hearts brimmed with gratitude,&nbsp;as they envisioned their wedding day surrounded by cherished friends and family in a place that will always feel like home. They are so excited to share their special day with you!

Shuttle Bus

We recommend guests take advantage of rideshare options to get to Semple Mansion (if you do not plan on parking). Starting at 10:45pm, a shuttle bus will pick up guests from Semple Mansion and take them to Icehouse. The shuttle will then run back and forth from Icehouse to the Canopy and Moxy hotels downtown until 2:00am.

Venue Parking

Parking is available across the street from Semple Mansion on the corner of Franklin and La Salle Ave from 9:00am until 12:00am. Please note vehicles in the lot after 12:00am will be towed.

The Stone Arch bridge is a historic limestone and granite bridge in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Spanning the Mississippi River, it connects the downtown area with the historic Mill District of Saint Anthony Falls. It offers great views of the city, and the river is a popular spot for visitors for walking, biking and photography.

Surly Brewing Company is a popular craft brewery in Minneapolis known for its high-quality beers, including Furious IPA and Darkness Russian Imperial Stout. They have a large taproom, beer garden, and great food.

Home of the infamous Jucy Lucy burger, you sure will not be disappointed! A Minneapolis landmark since 1954, the “Jucy Lucy” was created when a local customer asked for two hamburger patties with a slice of cheese in the middle. Upon biting into this new, molten hot burger, he exclaimed “that’s one juicy Lucy”, and a legend was born. If it’s spelled correctly, you just might be eating a shameless ripoff!

Matt's Bar and Grill

As much as Matt's Bar is a legendery eatery, Blue Door Pub is our favorite burger restaurant. They have been named home of the blucy (blue cheese in the patties) starting in 2008. Our first date was at the original Selby and Dale location in St. Paul close to campus, which is sadly now closed. BDP has a wider selection of delectable burgers than Matt's and is just better, but you be the judge and let us know what you think!

Blue Door Pub on Longfellow or University 

Comprised of Lake of the Isles, Bde Maka Ska, Lake Harriet, Brownie Lake, and Cedar Lake features over 1555 acres of land within Minneapolis city limits connected via a manufactured canal. The park has been described as “a necklace of diamonds in settings of emerald,” and it remains a jewel of the city today.

Spoon and Stable is a restaurant located in what was once a horse stable in the heart of the North Loop Neighborhood. Owner Gavin Kaysen, a James Beard award-winning chef dreamed to bring his talents back home to Minneapolis. The cuisine is focused on the local culture and technically inspired by the French cuisine for which Chef Kaysen is known. Reservations in advance are highly recommended.
