Dylan and I met back in July 2021. I had just finished my first year of medical school in Pikeville and Dylan was working in Louisa. After getting to know each other, we met each others families and quickly felt like this was our place in life. In February 2022 we decided it was time to add to our family and so we got Frankie from the shelter in Pikeville. She was the perfect addition to our little family. I then moved for school and our long distance became a little longer, but we made it work traveling back and forth each weekend. In September 2022 we decided that Frankie needed a friend. That’s when little Elmer came along. Dylan’s Aunt had kittens and as soon as Elmer was old enough we brought him home. Elmer and Frankie never missed a beat. Elmer brought Frankie out of her shell and they are now inseparable. In April 2023, while I was spending two months living at Dylan’s parents for rotations, Dylan got down on one knee in his living room and asked me to marry him. The most perfect, private proposal that we both dreamed of. After that we embarked on our journey to Ashland to allow me to finish school all while planning a wedding!
