In the process of moving out of her apartment, Abby posted her couches for free with the condition that someone had to move them out. This was an important condition because the couches did not fit through the doorway, so the window had to be removed—and replaced—to get them out.

A mutual friend told Abby she wanted her couches and agreed to the stipulation saying she would bring a friend to help her. She brought Jacob who then jokingly told Abby after taking her window out that he wasn't going to put it back.

After spending the day at our favorite swimming hole, Jacob got down on one knee in the driveway of my parents' house—in the dark. Completely oblivious and worried about carrying everything inside, Abby didn't notice Jacob and started walking away from him when he said, "uh hey Abby."
