Our Wedding

They say God’s timing is perfect, and our story is a reminder of that. We both attended the same university, UC Davis, just not at the same time. Noemma graduated three months before Abel started attending, which means we studied in the same library, ate at the same dining hall, hung out on the same quad and even lived in the same apartment complex… but our paths never crossed on campus. Looking back, we realize it was all part of God’s plan. He knew we weren’t ready yet, and that when the time came, He would bring us together in His way. Fast forward a few years and we met with a little help from technology, although Abel likes to tell people Noemma was his Spanish tutor. While that isn’t exactly true, it does capture something real. From the very beginning, she has been someone who teaches, encourages, and brings out the best in him.&nbsp; Our very first date was at a boba shop. It might sound simple, but it was perfect. What began with ordering drinks turned into a whole 45 minutes of conversation, laughter, and an instant comfort that felt different from anything either of us had experienced before. We quickly discovered one of our shared passions: good food. Since then, our relationship has been filled with culinary adventures, trying new restaurants, cooking together, and making memories one meal at a time. Food may have brought us closer, but faith has united us.When it came time to propose, Abel wanted the moment to be just right, but sometimes life moves faster than plans. The ring he ordered was delayed, but he couldn’t wait any longer. He asked her anyway, on a simple bench where they had once shared an important conversation about their relationship. When the ring finally arrived, he had a second chance to make the moment special. This time, he brought out a ukulele that he had bought the day before. There were shaky strums, a voice that cracked more than once, and a few happy tears. Two proposals, one incredible woman, the same answer. It was the start of forever together. Looking back, it’s clear that every step of our journey has been guided by God’s hand. From missed opportunities years ago to saying “yes” twice, we see His fingerprints all over our story. What once felt like delays were, in reality, God’s perfect timing preparing us for each other. We believe marriage is not just about two people coming together, but about two lives being joined for God’s glory. Our love is a reflection of His sovereignty and grace, and our hope is that our marriage will point others to Him. And now, as we step into this new chapter, we can’t wait to celebrate with all of you, the family and friends who have loved us, supported us, and cheered us on. Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?The ceremony and reception will be outdoors. There is a plan if it rains (we will have tents if necessary). We encourage you to dress warm! What is a "Money dance"? For those of you who have never attended a Hispanic wedding, there is a tradition called "El Baile del Billete" or "Money Dance" where attendees can dance with the bride or groom by pinning money to their clothing. We will have a QR code ready if you don't have cash and want to participate. Where will you both live after the wedding? Abel works remotely (and Noemma does not), so he will move into Noemma's one bedroom apartment in Campbell while we look for a place to rent in the San Jose/Campbell area.
