Our Wedding

It was 2019 when Abi and I set off for Holland, Michigan, full of big dreams as we began our first year at Hope College. During orientation, we spent days meeting a seemingly endless number of people. But it wasn’t until the last day of orientation, at the picnic in the Pine Grove, that Abi and I met for the first time.Throughout our freshman year, we found ourselves at many of the same events, often surrounded by the same group of people. But the real beginning of our story didn’t unfold until we returned to Hope for our sophomore year.

Best Friends to Life Partners 

We are currently doing a year of long-distance. Abi moved down to Nashville in early May to start PA school, and I remained in Holland where I work for Hope and a local Ministry. After the wedding, I will be moving down to Nashville with Abi while she completes her second year of school!

Holland

Around 30 min from Byron Center is Holland where Cameron and I met and fell in love! We will give you some of our favorite spots, so you can explore our favorite place before or after our big day!

Lucky for you, Holland will be about to begin the 2nd week of Tulip Time during our wedding weekend! Tulip Time is a globally recognized event in our little town, and it is worth checking out if you have time on Saturday. The tulips are beautiful, and there are usually many types of carnival foods and activities as well.

Walk around Hope's campus to get a feel for how beautiful and special it is. We loved our time at Hope, so we are definitely biased! Our favorite building in Dimnent Chapel.

Hope College

There are many beaches to explore in Holland, but Tunnel is certainly our favorite. You walk up a decently long path to a tunnel where you can spot the water and beach! Never too crowded.

Tunnel Park

A must-see is Big Red at Holland State Park! Usually there is a small fee to enter the park if you are not a Michigan resident or don't have a state park pass.

Holland State Park 

The Windmill is an iconic breakfast spot in downtown Holland! You have to wait outside in line to get a table, but you usually don't have to wait long. Delicious food and nice people. Get the hashbrowns omelet and french toast!

This place is definitely a must for anyone new to the area. We have spent countless nights with our friends drinking, eating yummy food, and having fun conversations. You must get the pizza pinwheels! Life changing!

New Holland Brewing - Holland Brewpub

The most ICONIC Hope College student restaurant! A small and inviting spot with delicious margaritas.

Taqueria Vallarta

This is Abi's favorite place to grab a coffee! It is conveniently on the way to the beach and has the best vibes.

Grand Rapids

Grand Rapids is our "big city" of West Michigan, but it holds so many cool spots and charm. It is about a 20 minute drive from our wedding spots, but is worth a visit if you enjoy city and night life!

A cute and upscale coffee shop that Abi really likes. Can you tell that Abi is just a little bit obsessed with coffee?

Madcap Coffee Company

These gardens are beautiful and offer so much variety for walking around both indoors and outdoors! We spent our 2 year anniversary date here as I (Abi) have been obsessed with butterflies for years, and they offer a butterfly exhibit in May. Definitely a must-see if you are a nature buff.

Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park

This restaurant is super cute and a place that Cam and I love! They offer yummy tapas most nights of the week, BUT our favorite is Sunday morning brunch. It is a cozy and inviting spot to enjoy a meal downtown.

San Chez A Tapas Bistro

A fun and quirky lunch and dinner restaurant. Cameron still claims he had his favorite cocktail EVER at this spot!
