José and I met at the beginning of 2022. I was home from college working at my local Cold Stone Creamery, and José came in to get ice cream with a friend. After he got his ice cream, he then came back in 15 minutes after we closed and tried to ask how to apply at Cold Stone. This was all just in the end to get my number. We then started dating on January 15, 2022. Over the a year and a half, José would come to visit me at college every other weekend, and our relationship continued to grow.

I just graduated from Campbell University on May 13, 2023. After the ceremony, my friends, family, and I found our way to the outside of the church on campus. José asked for family pictures on the steps of the church, and after that, he asked for pictures of just the two of us, and that’s when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
