FAQ

When do I need to RSVP by?

For us to allocate dietary requirements please can you RSVP by 1st June 2024.

What is the easiest way to get to and from the Manor House?

The best way to get to Castle Combe is by car (SN14 7HX), the Manor House has parking on site for all guests. The closest train station is Chippenham. Directions for The Manor House can be found here: https://www.google.com/maps/dir//SN14+7HX. If arriving from the north of Castle Combe, please follow the street round to the left when arriving into the village, head over the Bybrook bridge and the hotel entrance is on your right. The gates will automatically open when you come up to them. If arriving from the south of Castle Combe (via Ford), the hotel entrance will be on your left, just before crossing the Bybrook bridge. Please note the exit is not the same way as you come in, you must exit from the back of the cottages via the castle inn pub.

When shall we arrive?

For the Indian Wedding, we ask guests arrive by 2pm for a 3pm ceremony start. As we have exclusive use of the Manor House and have all rooms reserved, you can leave your luggage with reception and they will deliver them to your room once it is available as check in is not until 3pm. As we cannot guarantee rooms will be ready earlier (prior to 3pm) please come dressed for the Indian ceremony. There will be an opportunity to check into rooms after the ceremony. Please can we ask you have lunch before you arrive, food will not be served until after the ceremony. On the Thursday, please arrive by 1.30pm for a 2pm ceremony start.

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

We hope that on both days the ceremonies will be outside in the beautiful grounds the Cotswolds have to offer. This is all weather dependant but we have a contingency plan for rain. As we have exclusive use of the Manor House for two days we can use various spaces if/when required. We advise planning clothing to prepare for the ever changing nature of British weather.

Are there any colors or styles you'd prefer me to wear?

Indian outfits are encouraged on the Wednesday. Abi and Mayur will be wearing light pinks so it would be preferred if you can avoid these colours. Red is fine to wear if you would like. For the Thursday please dress black tie formal, men please wear tux suits for the whole day and for the ladies, both long and short dresses are acceptable.

Where can I buy an outfit for the Indian wedding?

If you would like to buy an outfit, we recommend exploring shops in Southall, Wembley and East London, there are some great areas in Birmingham and Leicester also. Some websites we also recommend are etsy, vinted, asos, next and www.mirraw.com, www.cbazaar.com and more. There are some good websites that you can hire outfits for the day. We would advise for the girls not wearing a sari due to the complexities of putting it on and there may be limited hands to support with dressing on the Wednesday.

Can we take photographs at the ceremonies?

As a couple we ask no photos during the ceremonies. We want you to enjoy the moment. Outside of this, we encourage you to take as many photographs and videos and please do tag and share with us. We have a photographer and a videographer for both days and we will share all photos after the event.

What food and drink will be available?

There will be soft drinks, tea and coffee on arrival on the Wednesday. An Indian BBQ will be served after the ceremony. On the Thursday, if staying at the Manor House, you will have breakfast included (from 7am-10.30am), there is also tea and coffee provided in your rooms. Canapés will be served after the ceremony which will follow onto a wedding breakfast. Lastly, a late night snack will be served in the evening. For those staying at the manor house, breakfast is included on Friday morning. We will be serving wine, beer and prosecco throughout and there are various bars on site.

Can we bring our dog?

As much as we love dogs, dogs are not allowed on site.

Are there any local places you’d recommend I visit while I’m in town?

Castle Combe is considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in the Cotswolds. If you have some time we advise you exploring the village where there are a number of walking routes, the hotel can supply details on this with walks ranging from 3 to 6 miles (depending how hungover you feel). If you plan to stay longer before or after the wedding, there are lots of stunning villages to explore locally including Bibury and Bath is in driving distance also. There is a gym on site, tennis courts and running routes available. Reception can provide access to this.

Who do I contact with questions over the three days?

As we have exclusive use of the venue, all staff on site are there to support and guide our guests. You can go straight to reception for all questions. For emergencies please contact our wedding co-ordinator on the Manor House direct line: 01249475812

Are you using a gift registry service?

We appreciate all of the time you have taken to come to our wedding and be part of our special day, no gifts are expected or required. If you do wish, we would greatly appreciate a small contribution to our honeymoon where we will have a card box left at reception.
