We first met in August 2017 at Ohio University, right as freshman year was kicking off. Our story began in Shively Dining Hall when John walked up and asked, “Is that pizza any good?” (Spoiler: it wasn't.) We ended up chatting over a slice and discovered that we had lived in the same dorm. From there, we quickly became friends, and not long after, we realized it was something more. By Labor Day weekend, we were spending so much time together that we decided to make it official. Over the next four years at OU, we built a life full of late nights, dining hall dinner dates, study sessions, campus strolls, and a lot of laughs. After graduation, we moved to German Village in Columbus, where we lived for a few years and added our sweet dog, Moose. Then came Labor Day weekend 2023. We rented a cozy cabin in Hocking Hills to celebrate our anniversary and revisit some of our favorite OU spots. While walking through College Green and talking about those early days, John got down on one knee and popped the question. It was a perfect moment—full of love, happy tears, and a very excited “yes!” We now live in New Albany and are loving this next chapter of life and wedding planning together—John is working as a design engineer, Abby is teaching first grade, and Moose is busy being a very good boy who loves walks and never says no to a treat.

Ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft are encouraged for easy travel. Our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all take place at the same location, eliminating the need for travel between events. After a night of celebrating, cars may be left in the venue parking lot and picked up the following morning. Please note that we will not be providing transportation to or from hotels.&nbsp;

German Village- A charming historic area with cobblestone streets, where we lived for 3 years and is one of our favorite parts of Columbus. It’s perfect for a leisurely stroll, and some of our favorite must-visit spots include:The Book Loft, Schmidt’s Sausage Haus, Pistacia Vera, Lindey’s, Katzinger’s Delicatessen, Vernacular, Stauf’s Coffee, Fox in the Snow and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams Short North Arts District – Known as Columbus’ most vibrant and artistic neighborhood, Short North is packed with unique boutique shops, art galleries, trendy restaurants, and great bars. It’s great for a day of exploring and a night of fun, with highlights like: Forno Kitchen + Bar, The Pearl, Brassica, Lincoln Social Rooftop, Marcella’s, Northstar, Martini Modern Italian, Rocketfizz candy, and HOMAGE. Dublin Market at Bridge Park- only on Saturdays from 9–12, stroll around, shop local, grab a coffee, and enjoy all the fresh, farm-to-table finds and tasty bites! COSI and the Columbus Zoo- both great for families. Columbus Museum of Art – A fantastic art museum featuring a mix of classic and contemporary pieces, plus a great café. Easton Town Center – A stylish outdoor shopping and entertainment district with top-tier restaurants and stores.
