Our Story

How It Began...

Dylan and Abigail both attended Saint Vincent College beginning in the fall of 2020. Both of them were part of an Honors program so they would take some classes together. They sat next to each other in their first ever college course. During this class, Abigail was vigilant and took pristine notes, while Dylan was probably nodding off and never opened his notebook once.
One night during finals week of the first semester, Dylan asked Abigails roommate for her number. They slowly started talking and messaged each other back and forth throughout winter break, getting to know each other. Abigail was a very quiet, reserved, and thoughtful girl, while Dylan was more outspoken and extroverted. They balanced each other out perfectly!
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the two could not go out on traditional dates. So, once back on campus for the Spring 2021 semester, the couple would embark on a nontraditional start to their journey - Dylan and Abigail went on many walks in the freezing snow, took long drives in Dylans rusted pickup truck, and watched movies in the science building because it wasnt allowed in the dorms. Throughout their time dating, Dylan and Abigail found that their favorite pastimes were fishing, ATV adventuring, eating out, attending mass together, and playing bingo with friends.
The couple dated for four years before Dylan proposed in their favorite spot on his uncles beautiful, vast farmland. Dylan and Abigail are getting married at St. Vincent in the Basilica, the special place where it all started. They wish to stay in southwestern PA as Dylan pursues his career as an elementary school educator and Abigail continues to work as a med-surg oncology nurse. Together they want to raise a family and dream of living on a small farm with chickens and maybe a few horses.

They cannot wait to begin this new chapter and build a fruitful life of love and service to Christ!
