Hunter and Abby first met in Nacogdoches, Texas, while attending Stephen F. Austin State University, where they were introduced through mutual friends. Early in their acquaintance, a memorable and lighthearted moment occurred when Hunter, in an unexpected state of dress, caught Abby performing a backflip out of a 4Runner—an encounter that would soon become part of their shared story. From that point forward, their connection quickly grew. The couple officially began dating in June 2023. After two years together, Hunter decided to take the next step in their relationship. On June 16, 2025, he proposed to Abby in Key West, Florida—a location of deep personal significance, as it is where Abby’s late great-grandparents first met, fell in love, and were married. Following a walk of approximately six miles across Key West, they arrived at the Southernmost Point in the United States. There, Hunter knelt and asked Abby to marry him. She joyfully accepted.
