Abigail and Nic met on the dating app Bumble in February 2019. After a few dates they began dating April 11th 2019. Quickly their relationship deepened and they fell in love. They got to know each others families, and are very grateful that Nic got to know Ab's dad, Kevin.

Through the five years of their relationship so far they've moved a couple of times, had a few job changes, and keep falling in love. Through a pandemic, too much loss in their families, and a few unexpected curveballs they strengthened their love and supported each other through it all. With trips to the Christmas tree farm, Hilton Head Island for thanksgiving, and Galena, IL traditions started to form. Now in Columbus together, Ab, Nic, and Rocco continue to enrich each other's lives and build their future together.

On July 16th, 2023 in Galena, IL, Ab and Nic were walking across a pedestrian bridge to Grant Park when a train was heard in the distance. Ab, loving trains, wanted to see if the train would pass under the bridge. Sure enough, as the train passed by Nic was on one knee. "Will you marry me?" -- to which Ab responded with "are you sure? really? are you sure?"
