Our Wedding

The couple meet at the Lake of the Woods campground in Farmersville, OH. It was the summer of 2017 and it felt like love at first sight. That summer they shared their first kiss lakeside under the fireworks while celebrating the Fourth of July.

Where they met

The couples favorite memory together is accidentally meeting the coach of their favorite basketball team . Joel is a basketball fanatic and has loved the Duke University team for as long as he can remember. Abby, who never really cared for sports has come to love basketball and Duke University. While on vacation with the Kern's in the Carolinas the family stopped at Duke University to walk around the beautiful campus. While walking around the basketball arena, Cameron Indoor Stadium, they accidentally bumped into the head coach, Jon Scheyer. He was so nice and spent some time talking to Joel and Abby. The couple was so surprised and to this day cannot believe that they met him.

Their  Favorite Memory

For the fifth year in a row the couple met at the lake to experience the Fourth of July fireworks. Little did Abby know this year would be different. While gazing up at the fireworks Joel got down on one knee to pop the question. After the shock wore off, Abby was beyond happy. It was such an easy yes. They were surrounded by both of their families and celebrated their engagement the rest of the night.
