What time does the ceremony start?
Our wedding is unique in the sense that we will be opting out of having a ceremony. We ask that our guests arrive to the venue at 5pm as stated on your physical invitations, we have an open bar and lawn games set up for cocktail hour. The bride and groom will join guests at around 5:30 for the remainder of cocktail hour.
How do I get to the venue?
We want everyone to have fun and have a few drinks to celebrate! We also want you guys to be safe in the process which is why we will be providing a pick up and drop off shuttle service to and from the venue. Pick up and drop off will happen outside of Neighbourhood Brewing to make it convenient for everyone. The shuttle will be waiting for you at 4:45pm so we urge you to be there on time.
What should I wear?
ITS SPOOKY SEASON MUTHA-FKAS so lets dress the part! We suggest keeping it in the autumn spirit and wearing fall colours. We also ask that you consider NOT wearing black since we want this celebration to be a colourful event. We also ask that you please dress formally as we would like to take pictures with all our guests. It goes without saying that white should be reserved for the bride only lol. If you are unsure about your outfit, please reach out to one of us.
Where should I book my accomodations?
We suggest staying in downtown Penticton closer to Okanagan Lake Beach. This location is packed with local breweries, eateries, and other fun local attractions. Neighbourhood Brewing, Bad Tattoo Brewing, Wayne and Freda Cafe and other great eats which are some of the more popular spots in Penticton are all located on Winnipeg St. and are all highly recommended. This area is also just a 5-10 min drive to wonderful wineries on the Naramata bench which is where we will be having our nuptials! You can't go wrong with any of the wineries in this area.
What kind of Shoes Should I Wear?
CALLING ALL LADIES! Please for the love of god do not wear stiletto heels. The venue property has grass, gravel, rock, and dirt terrain. We encourage you to wear shoes that you feel comfortable in (e.g chunky heels, flats, sandals, mules etc.) The key is make sure your feet are comfortable!
Can I Bring a Date?
Since this is an intimate wedding, we would already coordinated with you in terms of bringing a plus one. If this was not discussed, please understand that this invitation is for you only. Please feel free to reach out to one of us if you have any questions or concerns on the matter.
What's for Dinner?
For our meal we will be serving Spanish style tapas, paella, and mussels. This will be accompanied by wine and cider selected by the bride and groom. Early in their friendship Jay and Abi bonded over their love for Spanish cuisine.
