Well, it all started like most modern love stories do these days—on an app. Yes, you read that right! Well-picked photos, a few kind words written about ourselves (by ourselves), and a little bit of hope. This is how we first crossed paths, and it was I, Abby, who first liked a photo of Brett, but Brett who made the first move with a message straight from the heart. His very first question? Faith. I knew right away this wasn’t just a guy looking for a date—this was someone who wanted to build a life with someone.

Our first date? A whirlwind of goofiness and “what just happened?” moments. It was November 20th, 2022, when we met at a coffee shop so packed that there wasn’t a single seat open. Naturally, Brett (always the gentleman) suggested we change the location. He must not have assumed that ladies tell other ladies where they are going when they meet strangers for the first time and thought nothing of it. Changing locations and driving separately, we finally arrived at another coffee shop. We sat across from each other with coffee and tea in hand, diving into conversations about family, faith, friends, and what I remember most—our love of movies.

The first date didn’t suck, and a second one followed, (along with a potential new relationship we threw in a couple of other events in the mix because we like to keep things interesting—Thanksgiving, our birthdays, and, yes, Christmas). By January 2023, we officially became a couple, ready to explore all the adventures ahead of us. From learning each other’s quirks and silly habits to cracking inside jokes and sharing celebrity crushes (spoiler: I totally look like Brett’s celebrity crush if you squint real hard at me), every moment has been a joyful ride. Through ups and downs, we've discovered that the small, everyday moments are the ones that truly matter: the quality time, the goofy jokes, the times we’ve supported each other through challenges, and the endless laughter.

With every day that passes, we grow closer as best friends and partners. We’re present for each other through thick and thin—always by each other's side, providing love in daily words and tasks, and finding joy in the little things. The big adventures ahead are exciting, but it’s the small, everyday moments that are the heart of our love story. We know there’s no better feeling than having a best friend to share every single moment with, and we’re so excited to continue this journey—side by side, forever.
