Oğuzhan Demirci was born on April 7th, 1999, in Ankara, Türkiye. Later on, on April 6th, 2001, Abigail McDaniel was born halfway across the world in Washington, PA, USA. The two lived a world apart, living completely separate lives, until one day, after graduating from college, Oğuzhan decides to move to Pittsburgh, PA to start a new life for himself.

On the evening of April 6th, 2024, the two of them would find themselves celebrating their birthdays at the same night club in the city of Pittsburgh. That night the two of them were in the same place at the same time, just feet away from one another, but neither would know it at the time.

It wasn’t until nearly a month later that the two would cross paths on Tinder. They matched, sparked up a conversation, and immediately felt a connection with one another.

Oğuzhan’s perspective:

Right after matching, I started to talk to her and I was feeling so sincere and genuine. To talk to her made me to want to meet up with her and we had our first date in Washington, PA. I was excited, had arrived there before her, and had been waiting for her to come. When she got out of KJ’s car, the very first moment I saw her, I was feeling that our time was going to come. We were going to have lunch in one of the Indian restaurants but we decided to talk a little in Washington Park until we both got hungry. At the end of our first date, I had already started to feel very close to her. After a while we started to live together and had the opportunity to get to know each other better. We have gone through a lot in a short period of time together. After asking for permission from Abby’s dad to get married with her and getting Abby’s grandma’s ring from him, I started to plan my proposal. I took 12 pictures of her with the ring without her knowledge until our Miami vacation. It was our first National Park visit together(the first of mine) and we rented a private airboat in Everglade National Park. While pretending like i was flying my drone, I took the ring out in front of her finally and asked her to be my life partner.

Abby’s perspective:

Talking to Oğuzhan in the beginning was so fun and intriguing; I loved getting to know more about him. When we decided to meet up for our first date, I was so nervous, but so excited at the same time. We met in Washington, and I was immediately struck by how handsome he was and how confidently he carried himself. Before getting food at Masala House, we decided to go to Washington Park to talk for a while. As we got to know each other better, I instantly became so comfortable with him; it felt like I’d known him all my life. The rest of our first date went amazingly, and I was so excited to see him again after that.

It wasn’t long after we started dating that we moved in with each other. Oğuzhan was my rock and my biggest supporter through some of my most difficult moments, even caring for me after an emergency surgery. When we planned the trip to Miami, I was so excited for our first trip together. I had wanted to visit the Everglades since I was a little girl, and it meant so much that I was going to see it for the first time with the person I loved. Imagine my surprise when, on the airboat, Oğuzhan got down on one knee and pulled out my grandmother’s ring! I was so shocked, but so excited to begin the next chapter of our lives together.
