Michael and Abigail’s first trip away together was to Montauk, New York, where they stayed at Gurney's Star Island. On that vacation, they had dinner at a lobster bake on the beach, then sat by the water and watched the waves. It was here that they fell in love. Of all the places they have been, Montauk will always be most special to them.

It became a yearly tradition to make the trip to Montauk, but with an unusually full summer schedule, this year wasn’t looking very likely. Unfortunately for Michael, he had a ring stashed away that he planned to give to Abigail on this year's annual visit to the End of the World. Knowing that any planning done on his part would immediately raise suspicion, he did his best to inconspicuously nudge her to book it.

Abigail spent the first day relaxing on the beach, while Michael internally, and frantically complicated how he was going to get her to the spot on the beach from that first vacation without raising any flags. Michael eventually told Abigail that dinner was already booked. They pulled up to Gurney’s to Abigail's excitement. Michael, not being great at directions, tried to lead the way to the beach rather than the restaurant, which led Abigail to wonder where he was taking her.

Michael led Abigail down to the sand on a perfect Summer night right at golden hour. To the place their love started. The Montauk waves were the perfect backdrop for the moment when Michael got down on one knee and asked Abigail to spend the rest of their lives together.
