Abigail's grandfather used to tell people at the most life-changing and important times during their lives, that, “time was their friend.” He believed that taking your time and making sure that you were in a place to take your next step was critical to understanding yourself and your journey.

Everyone’s journey looks different and the twists and turns are unique to them. We found each other on February 14, 2015. In a world where we had not been searching for love, love found us. We found our human to take our next steps with. 6 months later Jesse proposed at the place where we met.

On December 21, 2015 we made the decision to get married quietly. We wanted to do it for ourselves, not the world, and try to make our way as husband and wife. We look back on that ceremony as one of the best decisions of our lives and we would not change it. In many ways, we grew as individuals and were successful together. However, in 2018, we found we needed some time apart. Our own journeys and our journey together had somehow changed. We needed time.

We knew it would be our friend.

9 months later, our steps led us back to each other, and to a place of renewed purpose and love. As the pandemic came into all of our lives, we knew that our forever had been rewritten, but our story was going to be together.

We could lean on the pandemic as to why we waited so long to have our wedding celebration and invite all of the people we love to share it with us, but truly we needed to be in a place where we could tell our story with grace and believe that each of you will stand beside us as a married couple.

No story is written without multiple plot twists. You are coming to the celebration of a couple who will have been married for 6 years, 6 months and 18 days, but that’s not all. We will be expecting Baby Pauley 90 days later.

We want to celebrate with you, the most important people who have been beside each of us along the way. We acknowledge unconventionality and we will be grateful if you choose to join us on this day. We want to celebrate all of our twists and turns and our finding our way with the people we love.
