Our Wedding

Nathan and I first met at a lifeguard training about 5 years ago. We started working together and during that time each of us thought the other was cute but were still strictly coworkers. Little did I know that Nathan had had a crush on me since the day we met. After working together for about a year and a half, word got around that Nathan had been asking if I was single, which I was. I was a little unsure about him because he was a coworker, but I figured I would give him a chance. I invited him to a swing dance and volleyball party so we could hangout a little. After that we started talking and getting to know each other, which generally looked like Nathan talking about cars and me smiling and nodding like I knew what he was talking about. I guess it worked because we went on our first date on September 23rd of 2020 and we've been together since! We spent the next year going on dates and going to PPCC together. We both transferred to different schools in the 2021 fall semester. Nathan went to UCCS, and I went to Fort Lewis College where we spent the next 2 years doing long distance. Most weekends were filled with packing bags, long drives, and fun activities as we traveled to and from Durango to see each other. Nathan was waiting to propose after I graduated college and I guess he didn't want to wait any longer because he finally proposed on May 6th of 2023, less than 24 hours after I graduated. Nathan had been planning for months to propose that weekend. My family and his parents conveniently went to Durango to watch my graduation. Everyone knew Nathan was going to propose, except for me, of course. On the way home from Durango we planned to take more graduation pictures at Wolf Creek Pass, which is when he finally got down on one knee! We have been together for over 3 years now and we can't wait to finally say "I do!"
