Q + A

We have a very specific plan for the wedding day so please read this.

So the venue does not allow cars there overnight and it's 20 min from downtown and we don't want anyone drunk driving so here's the plan...

When you book your room please let them know your estimated time of arrival, sometimes checking in before 3 can be difficult.

I would personally try to get to the hotel around 3, park, drop your stuff in your room, take a breather, change, and get ready

Come on down around 4:15 to the front and get on the shuttle because it's leaving at 4:30.

DON'T MISS THAT SHUTTLE THAT'S THE ONLY ONE! (If you do miss the shuttle, just grab an uber and meet us out there)

Shuttle will leave around 4:30 and take 20 min to get you out to the venue.

Head on into the venue where hopefully we'll be able to greet you with cocktail hour. If by chance we're still out doing pictures, get yourself a drink and mingle!

We'll do some toasts and hang out then all head straight into the ceremony, directly adjacent to cocktail hour room.

Ceremony should be short and sweet so don't worry too much about it being too hot...hopefully

From the ceremony we'll be grabbing family pictures while everyone else head into the reception to kick off dinner. Reception is directly adjacent to ceremony. (all one building)

After dinner we'll do all the normal wedding stuff, cake, toasts, etc, and then we're going to dance dance dance!

The first shuttle back to hotel will leave around 9pm and the second at 9:45pm.

The reception ends at 10 so we'll pack up and the last shuttle leaves at 10:30 to take us back downtown.

The shuttle will have two stops, one at the bar where hopefully everyone will be getting off with us to party party party, and the other taking any folks who are tapping out back to the hotel.

From there we'll finish the night at the bars and it's only a short block and half walk back to the hotel when we're done. (so packing a pair of flats might be a good idea after a full night of heals).

What is the summarized version of bus schedule?

4:30-5pm Only 1 bus bring folks from hotel to venue 9:00pm First bus taking people back to hotel 9:45pm Second bus taking people back to hotel 10:30pm Last bus taking people back to hotel

How do I RSVP? By When?

Please RSVP by May 1st because we have to report it to the vendors by May 14th. (Earlier than normal, I know). You can RSVP on this website under the RSVP page.

Can I bring a plus one?

Short answer is no. Because this is an "all inclusive" venue, each head is wildly expensive. We wish we had unlimited funds to support plus ones however we consciously had to make this wedding quite small, having to leave off some loved extended family and friends even. When you RSVP through the site you will see exactly who has been included by name. We're very much looking forward to having a close and intimate wedding with the people we love most, YOU!

Are kids welcome?

We've already spoken with most of you who have children and already spoken about who is bringing the little ones vs who might be taking the night off from the kiddo's for a date night. All names should be included during RSVP process. If somehow someone was missed please reach out to me to discuss.

Is there a dress code?

Yes! the dress code is Semi Formal or Cocktail attire. This normally slacks, button down, blazer and a tie for men and nice dress for the ladies. As long as there are no jeans, shorts, works boots, t-shirts, cargo style pants then you should be fine. The facility is very nice ( think old money estate) and this could be a great opportunity to get dressed up for a change and have some fun. Don't stress to much about if being June and hot, we'll only be outside max 45 minutes and even then it's shaded and by the Darby creek. Also, there are no color restrictions (besides white dress obviously). FYI Groom is in burgundy suit with black shirt, groomsmen are in black suits with burgundy shirts, and bridesmaids are in beautiful black formal floor length gowns.

What should I NOT wear?

I hope you see this day as an opportunity to have fun and dress up! Please avoid sneakers, work boots, flip flops, jeans, t-shirts, shorts, cargo style pants, and white/cream colored dresses.

Are the reception and ceremony at the same place?

YES! Yay for not having to switch locations!

How will seating work?

We'll reserve a couple rows in the front for immediate family, but for the most part please sit wherever and on whatever side you'd like for the ceremony! We'll have assigned seating for the reception.

Is the venue handicap accessible?

Yes! It's all one level and should be very easy for our grandparents to get around without a problem.

What is the parking situation?

It's pretty straight forward when you see it, just a couple of yards from the entrance. No parking fees or anything since we have the whole estate. The one thing to consider is they don't let cars stay overnight. They won't make anyone drive drunk by any means but it's highly preferred we plan ahead for transportation. If you leave your car overnight, there are strict hours you can come pick it up the next day. (ask abigail for these times). Check out the travel tab to see a picture

Will there be alcohol?

Yes! Open bar baby! but please keep it cute, and don't get sloppy. and again remember, no drunk driving, it's pretty far from the hotel, and try not to leave car there overnight. If you're going to be drinking please plan ahead for transportation and you're welcome to utilize the shuttle we're hiring.

Do you have a hotel room block for us?

Yes. Under the Travel tab are tons of details. Make sure to use this link to access our specific block https://book.passkey.com/go/SkodaWelchWeddingBlock
