We met in an unlikely place… but first a little backstory… The summer before Abigail started college she was looking for a new job that could offer her hours that would work with her new life and schedule. Her best friend Samantha was working at Walmart and told Abigail to apply, and sure enough she got the job. Abigail really enjoyed working with her best friend, but one day she was picking condiments and on the top shelf was teriyaki sauce that she needed and couldn’t reach. As Abigail was about to give up on getting the sauce, a man pushing a Walmart cart had turned the corner and Abigail just asked him if he could get it for her, the man smiled and said of course. After the exchange the two walked their separate ways.(oh yea… that was Adam by the way) As the months went on we talked here and there. Adam would share little things about his goals for life and what he was studying at Full Sail University. As would Abigail about her family and her love for fashion design. We specifically remember one closing shift at Walmart where Adam had his sleeves rolled up, and Samantha and I could see a tattoo that appeared to say “Faith” in large cursive writing. Out of the blue Samantha says “So who’s Faith, or do you have faith or something?” Adam just smiles from ear to ear and proudly tells us that faith is his sister, whom is deaf and adopted from China. Our next question was “Can you sign?” Adam replied with “yes but not as well as my mother and brother.” It wasn’t until after Christmas we had begun talking and getting to know each other outside of work. New Year’s Day… it was the first official date we went on, Adam came to Abigail’s house to pick her up. He went inside to meet her parents and bother and sister. After everything exchanged pleasantry’s we hopped in Adam’s Scion XB and headed to the movies. (I know very cliché) we were going to see Knives Out, it was a great movie and now a staple in our relationship, that night Adam was such a gentleman, opening doors and and holding her hand etc. etc. After the movie Adam to Chillis (Abigail had never been she was psyched). After dinner he dropped Abigail off at home and they talked on the phone all night, and in the moment they had found their match. During these last four-ish years Adam and Abigail have gone through the covid pandemic, amazing vacations with friends and family, we’ve lost loved ones, and helped our friends welcome their first baby into the world, graduations and job promotions, snowstorms and long Beach days, we moved out of our family homes and into our own, but when it come down to it we’re so glad we found each other when we did. Can’t wait to make even more memories❤️
