Elk Meadow Park – Large open space with lots of trails for walking, running, biking, and wildlife viewing.
Maxwell Falls Lower Trail – One of the region’s favorite hikes, with waterfalls fed by spring snowmelt — often running strongly in June.
Evergreen Lake Trail – Scenic stroll around Evergreen Lake, great for sunrise/sunset walks or casual runs.
Golden Gate Canyon State Park
Just a short drive west of Evergreen, this is one of the best state parks for hiking, wildlife viewing, picnics, scenic drives, and camping in summer — a great day trip for nature lovers.
Lookout Mountain Park
Overlooks Golden and Denver with sweeping views, scenic picnic spots, and trails. Visit the Buffalo Bill Museum & Grave nearby and catch sunset views over the plains.
