Our Wedding

Winston and Abbey met in 2018 at Towson University when Abbey ended up going to a party at Winston's apartment. Over the next 3 years a friend group formed that Winston and Abbey were both a part of. Through COVID and all the later college years the friend group stayed together and in 2021 Abbey and Winston started dating a couple months before graduation. Winston and Abbey both admit they did not know how they would work out, especially after Winston decided to get his masters degree 2.5 hours from where Abbey started her first job in the summer of 2021. Abbey got very familiar with driving across the bay bridge. Through the next two years Abbey and Winston spent their days off having beach picnics, going out with friends in Baltimore and in Salisbury and driving back and forth to see each other. Two years later Winston graduated with his masters and Abbey decided to start travel nursing. In September of 2023 Abbey set off for North Carolina for her first assignment and Winston started his full time position at Salisbury University as an athletic trainer. Winston drove to see Abbey for Thanksgiving that year in NC, it was his turn for the long drives. Abbey then continued to travel to Tennessee, California, Virginia and Maine. Winston and Abbey continued their nightly face-times, even when there was a time change, and Winston came to visit for almost every contract. Some of their favorite memories were made those 2 years, from driving to Nashville and going out on Broadway street together to surfing in Malibu to camping in the Smoky Mountains in the rain. In April of 2025 after a particularly cold winter in Maine, Abbey took a contract in Easton, MD and for the second time in their 4 years of dating Abbey and Winston were within 30 minutes of each other. Abbey and Winston spent that spring and summer making food together, going to the beach, going on dinner dates and finally not being long distance. On July 11th, the day after Winston's 26th birthday, Winston and Abbey woke up for sunrise in Virginia Beach after a Zach Top and Dierks Bentley concert. Abbey was a little suspicious after Winston asked her at 1 am over Taco Bell with two of Winston's best friends if she wanted to wake up to see the sunrise. They both woke up before their alarm and Abbey quickly looked at Winston's pants pockets to see if she could see a ring. Out on the beach they watched a cloudy sunrise and just as they were about to go back to the hotel Winston grabbed Abbey's hands and asked her to marry him. Abbey of course said yes and here we are!! Our favorite story to tell is about to get even more special.

Travel

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?The dress code is formal attire, we can't wait to see everyone dressed up with us! Women should wear long or mid length dresses of any color or pattern, for men suit and ties. Our wedding reception is at a golf course so collared shirts are required for men and no jeans please per club policy. Are kids invited?We love your kids but this is an adult only event. We want everyone to be able to relax and enjoy the night with us, thank you for understanding. Will the event be indoors or outdoors?Our plan is to have ceremony and reception indoors with cocktail hour outdoors as long as weather cooperates. Can I bring a plus one? Due to the limited space we have at our reception venue, we will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding! What should I do between the ceremony and reception? Our ceremony starts at 4 pm at St Marks Catholic Church in Catonsville, MD and our cocktail hour starts at 6 pm at Sparrows Point Country Club. The travel time between the two is about 30 minutes, we will have hotel blocks in white marsh which is about 15 minutes away from the reception venue. The time in-between is perfect for travel and checking in to your hotel, we plan to have shuttles from the hotels to the reception. If you are not staying at a hotel we have some suggestions under the “things to do” tab of ways to pass the time. Is there parking at the reception?Sparrows Point has a large parking lot with free self parking. If needed people can leave their cars there overnight, the parking lot is gated and the gate will open 6 am Sunday morning for people to get their cars. What time should I arrive to the ceremony? The ceremony starts at 4 pm, guests should arrive between 3:30 and 3:45. There is parking available at the church and the attached school along with some street parking.
