Our Wedding

We met in 7th grade in an art class. It didn’t take long for us to become friends and for my (Abigail) friends to start teasing me about Galen. I firmly maintained that we were just friends. Fast forward to high school. My junior year and Galen’s sophomore year, we went to prom together. At this point, mutual friends had a great time pairing us up together. One friend even gave Galen a book on raising children. Still, we insisted we were just friends. I said over and over that I would never date Galen. It just wasn’t in the cards. I went off to college, Galen started his senior year in high school. We remained friends, texting often, fishing and cruising O street. Christmas came and went, and on December 30th, 2016 Galen and I went ice skating together. On the way home, Galen suggested we drive around for a while. I agreed, and we cruised, making small talk while Galen worked up the nerve to ask a question. Did we want to try out dating? I think God was chuckling to Himself at that. I said yes, and together we started a 4 year long journey together. Throughout those four years God wove a relationship out of long walks, fishing trips, bible studies, misunderstandings, frustrations, long conversations, tears, laughter, and love. Together we started the journey of loving and understanding one another. Today, we are so excited to continue that journey in the commitment of marriage!

Ana is someone Abigail is fortunate enough to not only call her sister, but her friend. She is generally the reason why Abigail ever looks well-dressed and always livens the occasion with her fiery personality.

Kalie, aka Hagrid is the youngest of Abigail’s three siblings, and her sass and confidence makes up for the age gap. Kalie and Abigail played together a lot when they were younger, including games like Journey to the Center of the Earth, Bear, Tent-Making, and Barbie dolls.

Allison is one of Abigail’s oldest partners in crime. They grew up writing stories, making “tea” out grass and weeds, and generally having way too much fun for their own good.

Grace and Abigail became friends in high school and Grace was an essential aspect of Abigail’s ability to graduate college with her sanity intact. Grace has the dual roles of bridesmaid and photographer.

Emily and Abigail met in high school and bonded over a shared love of music and writing romantic short stories. They continued playing on worship bands into college and could have quite possibly gone on to win an Emmy.

Megan and Abigail have known each other since elementary school and were even roommates for a while during and after Abigail’s college years. Megan and Abigail spent many hours working out, dancing to loud music, and laughing way too hard.

Lydia and Galen grew up climbing trees and building expansive tree forts. Their favorite game included trying to shake each other out of trees. While they haven’t know each other long, Abigail has enjoyed the opportunity to get to know Lydia. Of their favorite shared activities, beating Galen at codenames ranks at the top.

Isaac and Galen met detasseling, and went to high school together. They enjoyed summer afternoons shooting trap, fishing, and making fun of Abigail.

Galen and Tate have been friends for a very long time. They graduated from bike rides and sleepovers to roommates and husker football games.

Jacob is one of Galen's first Comrade's. Having known each other since elementary school, they have caused plenty of trouble together. From shooting plastic army men with bb guns, to camping, they have done it together.

Wade and Galen first met in a homeschool co-op. They  became friends and shared many activities together through high school.  Many activities involved sports as they both enjoyed and competed with each other in them.

While having a large age gap between then, Finn and Galen enjoyed playing many games with each other when they were younger. They would ride bikes and scooters outside and play video games like call of duty.

While Josiah and Galen haven't known each other as long as some people, they have become good friends. Blowing stuff up on the 4th of July is at the top of their list when it comes to enjoyed activities.  Josiah is Abigail’s only brother and they grew up playing pranks, waking each other up as obnoxiously as possible, and having late night conversations.

Micah and Galen first met detasseling and working at Hyvee together. They soon found out that they both share a passion for cars and things that go fast. They still frequently go to cruises and car shows together.
