We wish we could spend more time with you while you're in town and show off why we love Wilmington. If you have some extra time on your hands, please enjoy some of our favorite activities. We can't wait to hear all about the memories you make in our wonderful town!

Carolina Beach State Park - This is one of our favorite places to take Della for walks around the sandy trails. You can find us here hiking most warm weekends enjoying the outdoors.


Wrightsville Beach - Hands down the best time of year to enjoy Wrightsville Beach is October. The natives call it 'locals summer'... dogs are allowed at the beach and the tourists are no where to be seen! Luke & Abigail love to bring Della to the beach for walks in the evenings or meet friends for spikeball at sunset.


Captain Bills - On weeknights or during a weekend tournament, you can usually find Abigail, Luke & Della soaking up the sun at Bills, spiking volleyballs or drinking beers with friends. If you want to see one our favorite places to spend time, swing through Bills for a beer! Fun fact, the Summer I Turned Pretty filmed their volleyball tournament scene here!


iFLY - It's really special to see someone you love, do something they are so passionate about!! When iFLY announced they were building a location in Wilmington in early 2024... Luke knew he had to be apart of it. In late 2024, Luke said adios to his corporate job and now works full-time as an indoor skydiving instructor at our local iFLY Wilmington. Swing through the facility to watch Wilmington's best skydivers, see what Luke's super cool job entails, and maybe even become a first time flyer!


NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher - Do you have little ones? The aquarium is a fun place to take the kiddos to see the fishies. You'll get to drive through Carolina Beach which is the perfect place to stop for lunch on your way back into Wilmington.


Walk around Downtown Wilmington's Riverwalk - Anytime we have friends or family visiting, we usually take them on the tour of downtown Wilmington which of course includes a stroll down the riverfront. You can even see the NC Battleship across the river!


Take the ferry from Kure Beach to Southport - Southport is another really cute beach town near Wilmington. When Abigail & Luke find themselves in Southport.. it's usually at our local dropzone, Skydive Coastal Carolinas. Talk about some nice skydiving views!! Be sure to let us know if you're brave enough to try a tandem skydive! :-D


NC Battleship - Abigail once visited the battleship in elementary school for a field trip but hasn't been back since... it's on our to-do list.. If you like history, this would be a fun option to check out!

When we aren't making a Bishop family recipe or cracking a bottle of red at home, here's our favorite spots.

Jimmy's - Our favorite beach bar of all time. Bring a dollar bill to tack onto the wall, order a slushie, and enjoy.

Tower 7 / K38 - These are sister restaurants, but the idea is the same... margaritas. Tower 7 is located in Wrightsville Beach & K38 has a location closer to downtown Wilmington. We had K38 catered for the surprise engagement celebration with family.

Smoke on the Water - Riverfront!! Great views, great vibes. This is a frequent spot for a Luke & Abigail date night or when we have family in town.

Ponysaurus - Pizza & beer. Need I say more? Okay, they also are perfectly located downtown Wilmington and have a great outdoor space. We often find ourselves here for lunch brews with Erin, Mark, & Emma Darrough (sister of the groom, brother-in-law, niece) and family.
