Our Wedding

The Spark Notes Version

The first time we met was camping... in Hawaii... as part of wedding party bonding for our dear friends Zach and Jiana Le. We have been talking ever since from outrageously long texts to weekly phone calls to backpacking trips and romantic pickleball dates. Our similar love for the outdoors, adventure, people, ice cream, and most importantly, Jesus made the answer to a future together a joyful "yes!" The Lord has been incredibly kind to us, all glory and gratitude to Him.

The Proposal

A year and one day before our engagement, Abby was filming the engagement of Will and Emma, two amazing friends of Andrew's that she had met that day as we backpacked into the Mt. Hood wilderness. Naturally, it only made sense that Andrew would propose at sunset on a backpacking trip with them and Abby's best friend Sarah a year later. Andrew was concerned Abby would say no at first because she thought he hadn't asked her parents for their blessing yet. Much to his relief, Abby said "yes" first and then the first thing she said after the celebratory moment was "when did you ask my parents!?" Travel

GO TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY!

We have been attending Bridgetown Church in Portland, OR for the entirety of our relationship. Jesus remains at the center of who we are and it would be our joy if you shared in the space where we worship and commune with Him and our community.

Fly Fishing

The Sandy River which is near to the venue has been known for its steelhead fishing quality. (Yes, Sam, we put this here just for you)

Hike/Walk at Powell Butte

Powell Butte is a place that we as a couple frequented to enjoy the views of the mountains and gorgeous sunsets while getting some exercise. It is a very special place to us! The wildflowers might be out in May too!

Hike around Mt. Hood

The hike to Mirror Lake near Mt. Hood is beautiful! If you go beyond the lake and climb to the peak, you have a phenomenal view of Mt. Hood on a clear day!

Enjoy Stomping Grounds Coffee!

The newest Stomping Grounds coffee shop recently opened in downtown Gresham! It's one of Abby's favorite places to go, especially for their chai!

There may be another wedding occurring on the opposite side of the venue. Our parking lot is the big gravel one to the east of the building.

Will there be alcohol?

No, there will be no alcohol allowed at the wedding.

Is there any special attire?

No, the wedding party will be in sage green and black colors, but you are welcome to dress in any semi-formal attire you desire.

What if I have food allergies?

We will have a build your own salad bar and chicken in a crock pot for those in need of alternative food options! For dessert, we will also have gluten free and dairy free oatmeal cookies! Feel free to reach out if you are concerned you won't be able to consume these choices!
