We met the summer of 2020, at the start of our two years serving on the Silver Team with Life Action Ministries. Trey was a children’s minister & Abigail was the team administrator (basically Trey’s boss lol).
(Abigail) I quickly became a part of the Ford family after visiting on holidays & birthdays, as I happen to be best friends with Alex, Trey’s older sister.
After serving an entire year & a half together as best friends, I developed feelings for Trey in January of 2022. Surrendering it to God, I kept these feelings to myself as best as I could. While Trey was still unaware, everyone else in our lives could tell there was something more between us.
While visiting during Thanksgiving of 2022, my prayers were finally answered.
(Trey) After spending a week together (shout out to Friendsgiving), I began to feel sad with the idea of Abigail leaving town and wondered what that meant. I quickly realized that I was in love with her. Soon after, when Abigail came back to visit, on December 15, 2022, I asked her to be my girlfriend.
After seven months of long distant flights & long drives, Abigail moved to Tyler, TX with Alex. Since moving, we have been able to join a church, serve in ministry, and develop a community together.
(Abigail) After spending a year & some months dating, on March 9, 2024, Trey took me to a family friend’s property for a picnic. He surprised me with disposable cameras to capture the date. After a stroll through the property, Trey asked me to take his picture. As I looked through the lens, he was teary-eyed & on his knee expressing his deep love and gratitude for me. With the most joy in my heart, I said yes to spending forever with him as his wife.
Exactly two years after beginning our relationship, we will get to say “I do” for our lifetime!
We pray our story gives all glory to God. In addition, we are incredibly grateful to each one of you! You helped shape us to be who we are today, so thank you! We hope to see you on December 15, 2024!
With love, the (future) Fords :)
