We met in Portland in October of 2019. A random run in due to a broken down RV and a pair of borrowed headphones; throw in a Halloween party, a hike in the Gorge and Reid kept coming back every weekend Adalynne was at Will and Rachel's. Luckily it took 3 weeks for the RV to be repaired.After Adalynne went back to work on the road, Reid continued his own roadtrip back to Durango for the winter. Adalynne dropped multiple hints that he should invite her out to Durango before Christmas, Reid didn't pick up on those so she invited herself. Good thing she did, we went on the spend New Year's together in Mexico, met up in February in Santa Fe, another weekend in Portland, and a week in Florida in March...just as the world was shutting down from COVID.COVID put a halt to our cross country meet ups but we continued to get to know each other over the phone while Adalynne was in central Florida and Reid in Idaho.We finally got to see each other during the summer of 2020, once in July for Adalynne's sister's wedding and an impromptu drop off in August when Adalynne and Creighton were driving back from California (Idaho's not that far out of the way).We decided in the fall of 2020 to try an extended visit in Idaho and Adalynne came out in October...she didn't leave until February. She officially moved to McCall in April and in August we headed to Moscow for Reid to start his Master's Program.After 2 years of grad school we celebrated Reid's graduation by packing up our house and backpacks and booking one way flights to Southeast Asia. We spent 4 months traveling through Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam - enjoying every beach, river, mountain, and meal.On our return, we moved to Santa Fe in May and Reid started his career as a Hydrologist.One night in June, we were doing our usual happy hour on the tailgate when we decided to get married. Reid wanted to surprise Adalynne with a ring at some point so we kept it quiet. Reid popped the question with ring in pocket on a cold night in January...on the tailgate.So cheers to us and cheers to you!

We highly recommend booking your accommodations early, Labor Day weekend is a busy travel time for Durango! Downtown Durango is great place to stay; walking distance to many restaurants, bars, shops, and galleries. We've included a few recommendations for downtown spots. There are also many, many options for VRBO and Air BNB as well as other hotels and motels. Getting to Durango:There is a small airport in Durango (DRO). The next closest airport is Albuquerque Sunport (ABQ). Car rentals are available at each airport. We can assist with car pooling for those coming in on similar flights!
