What time does the ceremony start?
The ceremony starts at 5:00pm sharp.
What time should I arrive?
You do you, we just want you there for the ceremony! That being said, the venue recommends arriving no earlier than 4:15pm and no later than 4:45pm so you can get settled.
What if I'm late?
If you arrive after the ceremony has already started, please let one of the event staff know. They will help you get seated at an appropriate time to minimize any disruptions.
What should I wear?
The dress code is formal. Please use this as your opportunity to be fancy, but don't feel the need to buy anything new. This is a gay™ wedding, so wear whatever you're comfortable with, and push whatever boundaries you want.
Are there any colours I should avoid wearing?
While there are no brides, please do not wear white so that you don't match the groomswomen.
Is the wedding inside or outside?
What a good question! The ceremony will ideally be outside, with the reception to be both indoors and outdoors. Because the wedding is in October, please bring a coat in case Mother Nature decides to show her sense of humour. There is free coat check, as well as outdoor heaters.
Are kids allowed?
Sure thing! We know that parents might want to let loose without the munchkins, and they are definitely welcome to attend. If you are bringing your kids, please make sure you include them in your RSVP. If childcare falls through at the last minute (because life happens), please just let us know and we'll make sure they're added to the guest list. We would also ask that any crying or audibly fussy children be excused (briefly) from the ceremony to avoid disruptions.
Is there an open bar?
Could the bar BE any more open? The drinks are on us, so please have a good time!
Is smoking allowed?
There are designated smoking areas for use of any legal substances. Please be mindful of the odours if others are around, and be respectful if people ask you to move farther away. There is no smoking permitted during the ceremony.
Is there parking available?
You bet! There is a fun and exciting parking lot in the middle of Lakeshore Boulevard that is free to use for guests. Please check out the parking section of the website for details and instructions. If you plan on drinking, be sure to have a safe ride home. There's an open bar, and zero tolerance for driving while intoxicated (drunk or high). Please contact Geoff or Adam ahead of time if you would like help planning options for travel within Toronto. If you consume more than you were anticipating, please speak with a member of the event staff to get help with securing a safe ride home.
Are you providing transportation to the venue?
No. Because there are several options for accommodations in the city, we have not arranged a shuttle service to or from the venue. We suggest planning to use a taxi service (Beck Taxi is our recommendation), ride sharing app (e.g., Uber, Lyft), or public transit. The venue is accessible by transit via the King and Queen streetcars, and the closest stop is just across the pedestrian bridge at the foot of Roncesvalles Avenue.
Can I take photos throughout the evening?
Absolutely! Please be sure to ask for people's consent before posting anything online.
If I have more questions, who do I contact?
Please reach out directly to Geoff or Adam with any additional questions or concerns.
