What is the dress attire?
Our preferred attire is "garden cocktail" - some variation of a cocktail dresses or button-up shirt and khaki pants. Basically the clothing version of a "mullet." Classy up-front for the ceremony, but fun enough to get-down on the dance floor. The wedding ceremony will be outside so an umbrella or rain coat may be handy in case of drizzle. We will likely move it to a covered location if there are downpours.
There will be a slight walk down a wooded path, so make sure you wear appropriate footwear.
Will the wedding be inside or outside?
Assuming the weather cooperates, the ceremony will be outside in a wooded section of the property. We will move it inside if the forecast predicts heavy rain.
The reception will be inside. Bring your dancing shoes!
What is the expected weather?
Check back sooner closer to the wedding.
How do I RSVP and what is the deadline?
Please RSVP through THIS website. The link is at the top and to the right. Please RSVP no later than May 15th.
Can I bring my children?
We are only inviting family children. However, if care issues are preventing you from attending we can make exceptions. Please email adamblair11@gmail.com and we can work something out.
I have dietary issues. What kind of food will be served?
We will have a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options as well as numerous snacks and appetizers. If you are severely allergic or have very specific needs please reach out to us via email (adamblair11@gmail.com), so we can try to accommodate your request.
Will it be a cash or open bar?
All drinks will be on the house, but please drink responsibly and make arrangements to get home. There are NO Ubers or taxis in Rochester, so please designate a sober driver.
You aren't registered anywhere. What should I bring for a gift?
After combining two households, we have all the towels and gravy boats we need; hence our reason for not registering. There will be a place for gifts if you would like to bring one.
What time should I arrive for the ceremony?
The ceremony will start at 6pm. Please arrive AT LEAST 15 mins before as there is a short walk to the ceremony spot.
Will there be a time gap between ceremony and reception?
Nope. We wanna get the party started! Cocktails and appetizers will be available immediately following the ceremony followed by a buffet dinner and desserts.
What time does the wedding end? Is there an after party?
There is no set time for the reception to conclude. It will take place at a family home, so we can go as late as you can. There is no official after-party planned.
Will transportation be provided to or from my hotel?
Sorry, no. Rochester is a very small town with no taxi or Uber service. Please make arrangements to get home safety if you have been drinking - don’t be an idiot.
Where do I stay and what is there to do in Vermont?
Please click the "Travel" and "Things to do" tabs on this site for accommodation and activity info.
What is Rochester like and what is there to do there?
Rochester holds a special place in Adam's heart and is very much a part of who he is. He is very excited to share it with everyone. Many generations of his family have called it home and many relatives still live there.
It is small, rural town located in the heart of the Green Mountains National Forest, and boast great hiking, mountain biking, and other woodland sports. Its important to note that shops and restaurants close early and the hotel options are limited, but being the "anti big-city" is what gives it its postcard charm.
Being the 4th of July, Rochester hosts a great hometown parade in the morning. Fire trucks, vintage cars, and numerous other floats throwing candy make it great fun for all ages. Bernie Sanders often makes a parade appearance!
Make sure you get a creemee (Vermonter term for soft-serve ice cream) while you are in town.
If you would like so see some photos of the town click the "See Rochester" tab at the top.
I can't make it to Vermont. Will you be livestreaming the wedding?
Sorry, no. There are no plans at this time to stream the wedding. We will be posting various photos on social media after.
What if I have a health issue during my time in Vermont? What is the closest medical facility?
Rochester has a small walk-in clinic for coughs and bumps and bruises. It is only open Monday thru Friday: 802-767-3704. Also, there is a fully equipped town fire department and ambulance service for emergencies. Rutland (40 mins away) is the largest local hospital to treat any major medial issues.
I have more questions. Who do I ask?
You can email the bride (shell.ross998@gmail.com) or groom (adamblair11@gmail.com) with any specific queries.
