How We Met
Eric and Adam met at a dinner party with a mutual friend. Eric couldn't stop talking about wine, coffee, music, and his various interests of the day. Adam was smitten.
The Distance
Just as Adam and Eric began to get to know each other, Adam was accepted into a two-year job after law school in Miami, Florida. Eric and Adam promised to keep in touch. Something was special there. And Adam and Eric wanted to keep getting to know each other, no matter the distance between them.
Adam moved back to Washington, DC. Eric moved to Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. And despite the distance they continued their courtship.
The Trips
Eric and Adam love to travel. Their trips have included Spain, France, Italy, England, and Mexico. Domestic trips have included cities in Florida, Seattle, Temecula, and Canandaigua.
The Proposal
Adam was the best man for his friend's wedding in France in 2024. Not wanting to waste a good opportunity, Adam wanted to celebrate his love with Eric in Angers, France. Adam took Eric out to dinner a few days before his friend's wedding. Adam told Eric to bring his tripod and new camera with him for their usual post-meal photography around a new city.
Eric obliged. After a nine-course meal at a Michelin restaurant (the longest meal Adam has ever gone through), Adam took Eric out on a walk. Together they walked past a medieval castle and walked up a large staircase towards a cathedral. On the side of the stairwell was a smaller path lit up by a lantern. That was the place for Eric to set up a photo.
Without realizing it, Eric set up his own engagement photo. Adam got down on one knee. And before he even gave his speech, Eric said "of course, Sweetie!"
